1.1 General information about this application descriptionThis document describes the programming and parameterisation of easy compliant KNX products with the aid of the configuration tool�
1.2 Programming software configuration toolTheapplicationprogramsfortheKNXproductsarealreadypreinstalledintheconfigurationtool.
Ifthecurrentapplicationsoftwareisnotavailableintheconfigurationtool,thentheconfigurationtoolmustbeupdated(see"Configurationtool"installationhandbook).
1.3 CommissioningThecommissioningprocessforthemotiondetector(PIR)refersprimarilytothelinkingofthemotionchannels(referredtointheinformationthatfollowsasinputs)andtheswitchactuatoroutputs(referredtointheinformationthatfollowsasoutputs)aswellastheselectionoftherespectivefunctions(Switching,Dimming,Rollershutter/blind,etc.).
Thecommissioningprocessfortheconfigurationtoolcanbefoundinthecorrespondinginstructions�
Programmingwiththeconfigurationtoolisrestrictedtojustonebuslineanddoesnotrequirealinecoupler.Asaresult,itispossibletocombinewiredandwireless-network(quicklink )KNXdevices.

2.2 Functional descriptionThemotiondetectormoduleworkswithapassiveinfraredsensor(PIR)andrespondstoheatmotionscausedbypersons,animalsorobjects.Motiondetectorsareprimarilyusedinhallwaysor staircases as a means of switching lights on and off based on brightness levels and motion�Basedonthesetparameters,thedevicetransmitstelegramsfordirectingthebuildingfunctionsintothebussystem.ThereistheoptionoftransmittingSwitching,Dimming,RollershutterorHeating/cooling telegrams to the bus� Two independent channels are available�Thedevicecanbeoperatedmanuallyusingtheknobatthefront.Itisalsopossibletoconfigurethe device manually using the potentiometer under the design cover�
2.3 Operating conceptTheoperationbuttononthefrontofthemotiondetectorcanperformthefollowingfunctions(seeoperatinginstructionsalso): – Press and release the button to change over the operating mode� The operating mode is
displayed via the status LED behind the cover of the motion detector� – Press and hold down the button to select special functions� Selection is supported by the
LED display�
Itisnotpossibletoperformanypush-buttonfunctionsusingtheoperationbutton;thatis,the button on the device can only be used to set the three operating modes and the special functions�
2.3.1 Operating instructionsDuringKNXbuttonuse,thedevicedifferentiatesbetweenshortandlongtouches(seethedeviceoperatinginstructions). – Short repeating touches:

2.3.2 Range of functions – Motiondetectorscanbeconfiguredasanindividualapplication,amasteroraslave. – Twomotiondetectionchannelscanbeconfiguredindependentlyforautomaticcontrol
purposes,usingSwitching/Timer,Dimming,Scene,Rollershutter/blindcontrolandHeating/cooling functions�
– The detection area can be activated on the left and right� – The detection area can be changed using adjusters on the device� – Thepotentiometersforresponsebrightness,delaytimeandsensitivitycanbeadjustedon
the device� – Buttonfunctionsforlocaloperationoftheoperatingmode(ON,OFF,Automatic)and
specialfunctions(partyfunction,Teach-In,keylock,presencesimulation). – 2-channeloperation:Theoperationcanbesetbytwoindependentchannels.Thus,a
maximum of two telegrams can only be transmitted to the bus by one detection procedure� TheparametersforthechannelscanbesettotheLighting,Dimming,RollershutterandHeating/cooling functions independently of one another�

2.4.1 No function The No function function means that no function is assigned to the button� The button is disabled�
2.4.2 Lighting Timer The Timer function enables the actuator output to be switched on for an adjustable duration� Theswitchingtimecanbeinterruptedbeforethedelaytimeelapses.Anadjustableswitch-offwarning signals the end of the delay time by inverting the output state for 1 s� The timer duration andtheswitch-offwarning,ifapplicable,mustbesetintheswitchactuator.
Automatic ON The Automatic ON function is used to switch on the corresponding actuator output during motiondetection.Toswitchoffthisoutputagain,anOFFcommandmustbeissuedbyanotherdevice,suchasapush-button.
Automatic OFF The Automatic OFF function is used to switch off the corresponding actuator output during motiondetection.Toswitchthisoutputbackon,anONcommandmustbeissuedbyanotherdevice,suchasapush-button.
Automatic control switching The Automatic control switching function is used to switch on the corresponding actuator outputduringmotiondetectionforthetimesetonthedevice.Oncethistimehaselapsed,theoutput is switched off again�
Scene In the Scenefunction,severalswitching/dimming/blindoutputscanbegroupedtogetherandswitched on during motion detection� It is possible to choose from a maximum of 8 scenes�
Scene switching This function can be used to switch between two scenes during motion detection�

Automatic dimming switching With the Automatic dimming switchingfunction,thesetdimmingvalue1isswitchedonfirstduringmotiondetection;oncethetimesetonthedevicehaselapsed,aswitchisthenmadetothesecondvalue,dimmingvalue2.

Up/down Withthisfunction,therollershutter/blindismovedtothetopfinalpositionduringmotiondetection.Oncethetimesetonthedevicehaselapsed,therollershutter/blindismovedtothebottomfinalposition(operationtimestothetop/bottomfinalpositionmustbesetintherelevantrollershutteroutput).
Down/up Withthisfunction,therollershutter/blindismovedtothebottomfinalpositionduringmotiondetection.Oncethetimesetonthedevicehaselapsed,therollershutter/blindismovedtothebottomfinalposition(operationtimestothetop/bottomfinalpositionmustbesetintherelevantrollershutteroutput).

3. Project preparationThefollowingsectionsdescribetheconfigurationoftheparametersformotiondetectormodule1�10 m and 2�20 m devices� The only difference between the functions of the devices relates to theirinstallationheight.Forthisreason,onlythe1.10mvariantwillbedescribed.
The configuration tool is used for parameterisation and commissioning�
Ifalldevicesareintegratedintotheproject,thenyoucanstartconfiguringthedevice.
3.1 Project editingTo ensure that the commissioning process with the configuration toolissuccessful,thefollowing requirements must be met:
9 A network connection to the configuration tool has been established� 9 Allofthedevicesused(wiredandwireless)areconnectedtotheconfiguration tool� 9 Start the configuration toolsoftware(browserversionortabletapp). 9 Createtheprojectandentertheproject-specificdata(projectname,address,customerdata).
9 Click on search to scan devices�The configuration tool has scanned the device and started with the parameterisation�
