What Students are Saying

TARAThe most impactful experience of the Summer Institute was working as a team to accom-plish a task within the deadline. It was truly a real world experi-ence of cooperating with others, contributing ideas, and creating an end product. My team faced many obstacles, but we were able to improvise and find new solutions to our problems. Overall, I was able to expand on my teamwork skills and improved in working under stressful conditions.

FELIXI have learned how to set up research projects and work with others as a team. My most im-pactful moment has been seeing my COL gene in the gel. It was amazing to see all the hard work come to fruition. Summer Institute is an incredible opportunity to get ahead of class and be ready for the next semester.

THOMASThe Summer Institute has been really valuable as I have learned so much about what engineering actually is. I have learned the basic engineering life cycle of a product, the challenges engineers face, basic concepts of C programming and the techniques behind power tools. I have also been refreshed with chemistry and mathematics; this is extremely valuable as the STEM courses will build off these. I have also gained better collaborative skills with others.
