The measurement results are displayed in plain text. A message “Test OK” or “Test not OK” allows the deviceto be used by persons with electro-technical training, under the guidance and supervision of a qualified electrician. The measuring processes stored in the internal memoryor on the MMC memory card can be printed as separatetest logs with the help of the supplied PC software orsaved as files in the PC.The device can also be programmed for test series, i.e.preset for several identical tests in line with the applicablestandards. This function is protected by an access password.

Equipment and operation

The TG uni 1 appliance tester is a modern and robusttesting device for testing safety measures in transportableelectrical equipment in accordance with DIN VDE 0701and 0702.Thanks to the latest µP technology and touch-screen technology the device has an extensive range of functionsand is at the same time very easy to operate.

The basic equipment and functions of the appliancetester include:

• Differential current measurement or direct measurementof protective conductor current and touch current.

• Automatic or manual test procedure.• Test procedure with or without insulation resistance

measurement.• Adjustable limit value for protective conductor

resistance measurement up to 0.9 Ω (for extension cables up to 50 m).

• Automatic reversal of polarity during protective conductor resistance measurement and protective conductor current measurement.

• Acoustic signal when the limit values are exceeded.• Function test with recording of load data.• USB and RS232 interface.• MMC memory card and internal memory for

storing the measurement results.• PC software for log printouts.

The operation of the device is menu controlled via a bright and high-contrast touch-screen. Input possibilities include the date, name of the inspector, test object ID number and the duration of a test stage with automatic test procedure. The input field changes accordingly to an alphanumeric keypad.

Equipment and operation

The TGK-DSM+ 0701/0702 appliance tester is a device for testing safety measures in transportable electricalequipment in accordance with DIN VDE 0701 and 0702.The computer-aided design enables both manual and automatic test procedures, in the prescribed sequence. The protective conductor current is measured by meansof the differential current method. The device is equippedwith a membrane keypad. This holds the three buttons tooperate the device as well as the LEDs for signalling thetests and measurements below and above the limit values. The required protection class of the appliance beingtested is also set with these three buttons, and remainsvisible during measuring. The measured values are displayed by means of a 4-line digital LCD. An integratedoperating guide is accessible via the menu. All settings and remote control of the device as well asthe logging of the tests can be done using a PC(Windows® 95/98/ME/NT/2000) and the delivered software. The appliance tester is equipped with an internal memoryfor measured values. It is possible to save approx. 4000measured values. Every saved test operation is assigned a memory cell number. Via the appliance tester, the datamemory can be incrementally deleted backwards or completely deleted. Evaluation of the saved measuredvalues is done by means of a PC programme.

Three-phase adapterTG

22

Safety features and precautions

The TG three-phase adapter is designed and tested inaccordance with the safety requirements of IEC 61010-1 / EN 61010-1 / VDE 0411-1.When used correctly, the safety of the user and applianceis ensured.A function test and all associated measurements can beconducted exclusively on the single-phase, 3-pole CEEsocket outlet (blue). It is not possible to carry out a functiontest on three-phase appliances as the TG appliance testeronly provides single-phase alternating current. If a function test should be accidentally conducted withthree-phase appliances, the safety of the testing device, the test object and the user is always ensured by an overcurrent protection circuit (resettable fuse) in the TG three-phase adapter.

Technical data

Electrical safety: according to EN 61010-1:2001/ VDE 0411-1

Protection class: I

Overvoltage category: CAT II 300 V

Test voltage: 1,5 kV

Three-phase adapter TG 79200 18690

Application

The TG three-phase adapter enables electrical appliancesequipped with a CEE plug to be connected to a TG appli-ance tester for testing transportable appliances accordingto DIN VDE 0701/0702.The TG three-phase adapter is equipped with the followingCEE sockets: 5-pole 16 A, 5-pole 32 A and 3-pole 16 A.In addition, the TG three-phase adapter provides five 4 mm safety jacks to which three-phase appliances without fixed plugs can be connected, e.g. using quick-release clamps (not supplied) or conventional measure-ment cables.

The TG three-phase adapter can be used to carry outthe following tests on appliances with CEE plugs:

• Testing the protective conductor resistance• Testing the insulation resistance

(all phases short-circuited and individually)• Function test (only single-phase and 3-pole CEE sockets). It is not possible to use the TG three-phase adapter to connect three-phase appliances to the supply grid.
