•As tyre technology evolved domestic and overseas customers began demanding high accuracy and special features on tyre-manufacturing equipments

•Customer requirements were not uniform because everyone started the development activity independently.

•LTM was following a mixture of manual and semi-automated processes

•They were prohibitively expensive in terms of manpower

•They also meant a lot of time wasted in routine, repeated activities

•Due to such processes within the company errors occurred quiet frequently which led to poor quality of products supplied by the company.

•Process monitoring: Problems in follow-up of individual deliverables, project status and assessing overall progress.

•Document management: Problems in creating, storing, and retrieving files

•Intensive departmentalization :No collaboration among cross functional departments during product development

•Poor visualization of products

STEPS TAKEN TO IMPROVE QUALITY•Shifted focus upon continuous

improvement of processes in manufacturing and engineering

• Involvement of management, workforce, suppliers, and even customers

• Improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects
