My thoughts

The characteristics of this news app can be concluded as “fast, short and valuable”. It releases real-time news, and there are just several lines of words for each piece of news, users can just glance at their phones or watches to get the information they need. Only hard news that really matters will be selected, so users won’t be overwhelmed by overloaded, trivial information.

In addition, the news alert function of this app is really powerful, its different types of alerts enable users to get notifications of news they are interested in, news that could evolve into a major story, or news that is breaking near their physical locations.

My thoughts

However, those characteristics sometimes can turn into its weaknesses. Editors’ fast reaction to news also means they don’t spend much time on verifying the authenticity of news clues, which may lead to its releasing fake news, especially when news is from the social media. And because of the short length of text, news on this app can’t be depicted deeply.
