Bergman Köhler Site Manager App

This app is designed for the employers and managers of BK Industries to have constant access to up to date accurate information about briefs and jobs in which BK will undertake.

The apps purpose is to keep communication at a high standard so that miss-communications and lack of information when passed down is not lost thoriughout the workforce, everyone will have the latest information at their hands and therefore fails should not be made due to communication errors.

In the same way that I have personal access to ‘Blackboard’ to see the latest briefs and information which is controlled by higer powes, this app works in a similar way, meaning managers and CEO’s can post the latest briefs to individual workers as the app is exclusive to that employee. Ammendments can be made to briefs and blueprints can be,saved,sent live and sent to clients so all information is flexible, providing it has been approved by people in charge of each department.

The app also has a chat function so constant information can be passed through the workforce at an instant, this feature may be handy for people who are working in different areas of one site,on different sites or may be sent from home,offces etc, its jst another way to send and retrieveinstant information.

The app allows you to sign in and out of work and also holds your personal stats such as hours worked, overtime etc, also synchronistation options sjch as syncing contacts so that theyre easy to find and yoj dont loose numbers! Other functions are progress reports on jobs, stakeholder contact lists, a feed page of updates, and an ‘On time’ delivery tracker to track deliverys of stock for the site in real time or as close as technically possible.

This screen will appear after the Log In screen, this page has multiple options which will lead on to different ‘list’ style pages, the app path I will show is a path that follows the Job Schedule option.The bar along the bottom has metaphor icons which are common icons which appear throught the screens,they are recognisable icons that should be universally recognised to help with international understanding

From the Job Description option comes a list of jobs and their description,company aimes,dates, and images of the job/site, the user can scroll through past present and upcoming jobs which will be listed in order. The images can be pressed and enlarged and the screen will scroll down.The metaphors along the bottom is where the next app path will lead.The metaphors along the bottom interchange with the options available at the time, using this allows for easir understanding.

From the Blueprints metaphor along the bottom of the screen, the blueprints will appear with any edits that have been made since the origonal blueprint was released, the edits are indicated by numbers when the number is clicked a list of edits made will come up in detail in a list which can be added to and edited further. Pictures of the edits are listed down the side, these edits will change according to the jobs clicked. To add a new edit to the blueprint, the blue circle button with a add symbol can be pushed to send you to the edit blueprint screen.

Point of edit

Once on this screen, you drop a curser at the point of edit, once dropped, a note section will become available and the keypad will scroll up (can be scolled down) scrolll it up from the top of the metaphor bar (the up arrow would be apparent so you knew to scroll it up) to type on (when in portrait mode to give room, in landscape the keyboard is constant) There is also a search section to search for old edits which can also be ammended, this edit will be added to that list. (similar to the previous screen but incase your edit means another edit has to be ammended, it saves going back to previous screens) The camera metaphor can be pressed to photo the site location and any ammendments so a visual note is alongside it.

stylus oPtions

Same as the previous screen but this one is shown in landscape as the screen will work better in that view as it allows everything to get wider,which in thiis screen is valued over hight. The notepad and old note search bar sit side by side so the screen flows better and the keypad is always available as opposed to having to scrolll it up from the top of the metaphor bar like on the previous page.This page also has sylus capability options in which you use a pen to directly draw onto the blueprint, when this is activated the page enlarges to the blue print making it easier to draw on.

This page allows you to send the PDF files that the edited blueprints will be saved as, allowing you to send them to clients so that they are aware of changes, this works on a drag and drop system, A list of PDF’S come up in list form and you just drag it into your email. which will have the logo as default in the email. Metaphors are actually standard IOS/MAC icons used in mailing apps and dont generally have titles under-neath as they are universally known.

Instant messenger screen, used for messging others who are using the app to acheive instant communication, if the chat screen is kept on screen then messages will apear as theyre sent and recieved, otherwise a notification message will appear on screen when a new message has been sent.
