ABOUT US The Alpha Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is a national service fraternity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign composed of over 600+ students dedicated to upholding the three cardinal principles of the fraternity: Leadership, Friendship & Service, throughout the chapter, campus, community & country. We are available to assist in any volunteer efforts. The purpose of Alpha Phi Omega shall be to assemble students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop leadership, to promote friendship and to provide service to humanity; and to further the freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage. Alpha Phi Omega's Vision is to be recognized as the premier service-based leadership development organization. We are not just a service club, and we are not just a social fraternity. We believe that fellowship strengthens our organization, and service provides the opportunity for growth, but ultimately, we exist to build leadership. Our Mission is to prepare campus and community leaders through service. For this reason, the members of our chapter alone contribute over 30,000 hours of service to our surrounding chapter, campus, community, and country each year. We are always looking for more opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community.

Community Comments “As a community leader, I have had the opportunity to work with APO in several volunteer capacities. I have found APO brothers to consistently show professionalism and dedication to the volunteer tasks set before them. As an advisor to the fraternity, it is my goal to help foster a life-long commitment to what APO is all about--leadership, friendship and service.” -Angela Urban, Alpha Alpha Advisor, Community Center for the Arts Communications & Planning Manager “The Robeson Elementary PTA loves to work with the hardworking members of APO, who help make our events so successful. Good communication and delivery as promised, every time. In particular, a large crew ran all of the games at our annual Fall Festival, freeing up the parents and teachers to concentrate on other tasks. I am always happy to hear the very positive comments from both the students and their parents about how we have such professional and friendly people. APO makes us look good!” - P.J. Patterson, Robeson Elementary Volunteer Coordinator “Over the years, I’ve worked with APO members on a wide variety of projects and events, and the volunteers are always enthusiastic and professional. No matter what the task, they pitch in to help. APO members are dedicated to service, and they care about improving our local community. I regard the organization as a valuable community resource.” - Molly Delaney, Alpha Alpha Advisor, Education Outreach Director at Illinois Public Media "UniPlace is very fortunate to partner with Alpha Phi Omega on several outreach projects. Each week, volunteers assist with our Open Door Food Pantry, Chatterbox International Cafe and Community Dinner. APO volunteers are friendly, energetic and punctual. APO service fraternity enables us to do more than we thought possible in our community, and we are very grateful!”

-Allison Woodridge, University Place Christian Church, Outreach Development Fellow “As a staff member in the Office of Public Engagement, I lead a committee in planning the annual Community & Campus Day of Service. This year, APO took on an even more active role and coordinated an awareness and education campaign about hunger issues in our local community related to the Day of Service event. They not only encouraged students to participate in the volunteering events, but they also enabled students to better understand that hunger is a problem within the US as well as abroad… and as close as our local community. They led a campaign that included education on food waste as well as the difficulties of managing to provide food for a family on a tight budget, especially when trying to emphasizes healthy foods. APO was a critical part of the Day of Service team and I look forward to working with them on these and other activities” -Sarah Zher, Office of Public Engagement, Director of Operations
