APEC SME Digital Economy Forum

Purpose: Information Submitted by: China

47th Small and Medium Enterprises Working Group Meeting

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea12-13 September 2018

BACKGROUND With the rapid development of digital technologies such as cloud computing,

big data, IoT and AI, etc., the boundaries of business, industry and corporate

activities are constantly expanding, and the proportion of the digital economy

in the national economy is increasing. The APEC economies are witnessing

new business forms, new models, new industry changes , and data elements

become a new type of production factors. Customization featured

by"intelligent manufacturing" based on the "digital" of manufacturing

industry and "accuracy based on the industrial Internet" will become the

future SME trendy production. The digital economy will provide an important

choice for SME innovation and management transfer.

ABOUT THE FORUM

About 200 representatives from the Singapore Infocomm Media

Development Authority, Blockchain, Big Data, Net Celebrity, New Retail,

and WeChat Mini Programs to exchange ideas on the digital economy

issues of concern to SMEs. The participating SMEs learned what

opportunities these areas could bring to them and how they could proceed

next.
