Airavata Tutorial XBaya graphical workflow dashboard
What we will show you...
In this demo session we will show you how to
run a application on TACC's Ranger & retrieve
the results using XBaya.
User Roles Involved in the Demo
Gateway Developer
○ Familiar with the host computers & the relevant
application installed in those hosts.
○ Has knowledge on how to setup the environment for
the experiment & construct Experiments
Gateway User
○ Interested in running experiments, gathering the
results & analysing the gathered results
Prerequisites for Gateway Dev.
● The relevant application is installed and verified on
Ranger via the command line.
● The system is configured to submit jobs through
Globus GRAM using valid community credentials.
● We are aware of the system environment in Ranger
(application location, access right, etc.)
A Sample Experiment
Basic Execution flow in Airavata
Gateway Developers
● Configuring the Airavata
○ Introduce the ls application in Ranger to the
Airavata System using XBaya
● Constructing workflows
○ Using XBaya create a workflow which executes
the ls application

Gateway Users
● Running a workflow
○ Using XBaya execute the workflow to get a list of
files in Ranger
● Monitoring the progress of the workflow
○ Using XBaya monitor the progress of execution
● Viewing the results
○ Using XBaya browse results of previously
executed experiment
