Physical Security The use of video and physical access control for safety, security and liability reduction is rapidly growing. As a result, the requirement to monitor entry points, sensitive and dangerous areas and locations is proliferating. With this, a growing need to access and manage these systems both locally and remotely has emerged. While video surveillance monitoring has traditionally been limited to security operations centers, the ability to use IP networks opens up a myriad of challenges and opportunities for accessing live and recorded video as well as controlling access to restricted areas. AOS’ physical security solutions allow operations managers and system integrators to build customized video surveillance and access control networks that meet their exact requirements. The software suite enables highly scalable and flexible video systems that are easily managed, monitored and permit the retrieval of live or recorded video anywhere, anytime via a web based browser interface. This video system completely integrates into the Cisco Physical Access Controlsolution allowing video of entry points to be archived when door entry activities occur. Physical Security

The use of video and physical access control for safety, security and liability reduction is rapidly growing.

The use of one or both of these physical access solutions takes advantage of new innovations, such as the use video to enhance situational awareness, alerting security staff to left-open or forced-open doors while fostering greater collaborative communications.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE OPERATIONS MANAGERThe Cisco Video Surveillance Operations Manager (VSOM) enables organizations to quickly configure and effectively manage complex video applications throughout the enterprise. It meets the diverse needs of administrators and operators by providing multiple Web-based consoles to configure, manage, display, and control video throughout a customer’s IP network. A single manager can manage a large number of media servers, virtual matrixes, cameras, and users.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE MEDIA SERVERThe Cisco Video Surveillance Media Server (VSMS) is an all-in-one appliance that encodes, distributes, manages, and archives digital video feeds. The server is available in 1RU form factor with 4TB of storage, or a 2RU form factor offering up to 24TB in a single server. Up to 20 Media servers can be managed by a single VSOM. Combine Media Server internal storage with DAS and SAN solutions to store the video in multiple locations where it can be secured and accessed most efficiently. Video can be stored in loops, one-time archives, or event clips triggered by external systems. It offers the power and flexibility to meet a diverse range of video surveillance requirements and is cost-effective and simple to install.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE VIRTUAL MATRIXThe Cisco Video Surveillance Virtual Matrix software enables an intelligent, digital-video management system that allows any operator or integrated application to control what video is displayed on any number of physical and virtual monitors, both local and remote. The Virtual Matrix is easily integrated with other systems to automatically display video in response to well defined triggers. These triggers can include access control and fire systems in buildings, outdoor motion sensors, or even radar systems for military applications. It brings complete, flexible delivery of live and recorded video to demanding command centers. It also, provides high-availability access to network video for 24x7 monitoring applications.

CISCO PHYSICAL ACCESS MANAGERCisco Physical Access Manager is the management application for the Cisco Physical Access Control solution.
