Rising StrongWorkshop “We can’t give people what we don’t have. Who we are matters immeasurably more than what we know or who we want to be...Now as adults we realize that to live with courage, purpose, and connection – to be the person we long to be – we must again be vulnerable.” ~ Dr. Brené Brown Every day as human service professionals we experience the uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable. Based on the pioneering research of Dr. Brené Brown, this work dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Vulnerability is indeed at the core of difficult emotions, but it is also the birthplace of creativity and innovation, authenticity, adaptability to change and accountability – the key elements that every coach needs to survive and thrive. In The Rising Strong™ Curriculum you will learn how to: Cultivate practices for living more authentically as the person and human service worker we long to be. Increase your range of feelings and somatic awareness by learning about vulnerability, shame, courage and resilience. Deepen your courage to engage and facilitate an environment encouraging clients to change their at risk health behaviors and build upon their strengths by learning more about the art of giving, receiving and soliciting engaged feedback. Strengthen your compassion and boundary awareness. Develop practices for resilience and wholehearted living. This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Allison Jackson, LCSW a Daring Way™ Certified Facilitator. Please note: This course is not a part of the certification process to become a Rising Strongcertified candidate or facilitator. For more information on that certification process and the six required steps, go to The Daring Waywebsite: http://thedaringway.com/certification-process-registration-for-professionals/ The Rising Strong™ Curriculum is a highly experiential methodology developed to help people learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. Brown is the author of the #1 NYT bestseller Daring Greatly; How the Courage to be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead.
