Gila C. Dorostkar, Pediatric Den-tistry is a 2,500 square-foot dental facility that provides preventative maintenance and dental care to infants through pre-teens. By implementing environmentally conscious practices with state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Dorostkar was the first privately funded pediatric dental office in the country to be awarded LEED® certification.

The ChallengeWhile constructing a new dental facility, Dr. Dorostkar decided to expand its sustainability efforts to become a LEED® certified office. As a part of this initiative, the amount of paper towel waste needed to be reduced – especially since kids tend to use more paper towels. To reduce negative environmental impact and excessive waste, John G. Millar, Project Manager, investigated hand dryers as an alternative to paper towels.
