What we have been tasked with…

Sport England, May 2016: “Towards an Active Nation”

▪ Deliver a workforce strategy that will support CIMSPA.

▪ Together with CIMSPA, support the professionalisation of the sector

workforce and: create a framework of skills; develop a career

development pathway; provide sector staff with quality CPD to retain

the most talented.

▪ £1.2m funding received September 2017

HM Government, Dec 2015: “Sporting Future”

▪ Sport England will support CIMSPA in developing and implementing a single

set of standards for all sport and exercise professionals, with a clear and

rigorous system for assessment, awarding and validating qualifications.

▪ Sport England will develop a workforce strategy in and will work with

CIMSPA towards greater professionalisation of the sport sector with a clear

skills framework including good quality CPD provision.
