I would like to offer my personal thanks and commendations to the kit distribution team for working hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and delightful experience for the delagates. I would also like to commend the efforts of the Marriot front office for the easy flow of room registration process. I am also extremely happy to see all the delegates and their family members enjoying the opening ceremonies and also the entertainment program, sumptuous dinner. Welcome to the gathering of the Largest Paint fraternity Meeting in the world, being organized by the world's largest paint association. The Genesis for the Confernce was born at the Chintan Baithak of ISSPA held in Delhi on ---- wherein it was mandated upon the president to conduct the conference within a span of one year on a grand scale. As all are aware it is a challenging task to plan and execute this event and more importantly to provide satisfaction to each and every member. We have tried to accommodate and register each and every member, but still many would have been left behind, due to their late registrations and capacity constraints. ISSPA always operates on the FCFS—First Come First Served basis and thus the important lesson to be learned by al members is to rush their registrations once an event is announced. Welcome to Hyderabad World’s Largest Paint Association Meets “Our Government is with you” AP Minister assures ISSPA th The 11 ISSPA Biennial Conference started with a bang with the largest gathering of delegates numbering more than 1000, a record in the history of paint conferences in India. The opening ceremony started with the Ganesh Vandana dance by Ms Smrutika Milan Parekh. Later the dignitaries of the dais lit the holy lamp inaugurating the event. In his welcome address Mr Deepak Doshi. convener outlined the reasons behind the choosing of Hyderabad as the venue for the present conference. Dwelling on the selection of the theme, Mr Doshi said that the desire to provide intense knowledge Beyond Technology—and not remain only a wine and dine program, was the reason which inspired them to include topics like SCM, SAP, Marketing Management , Sustainablility, opportunities for family business etc The hard core technology topics, he said are included in the Break out parallel sessions. He also proudly announced that ISSPA has been certified and has now become systems driven. “We are the first Paint association to achieve this feat”, he said. The Paint News Souvenir was then unveiled by the chief guest. Dr P Shankar Rao, Minister for Small Scale in Andhra Pradesh, the chief guest on the occasion in his inaugural speech congratulated the ISSPA on achieving the ISO 9000-2001 certification. He stressed on the importance of the preservation and conservation of Water. He called upon a change in the mindset and said that this sector is not 'Small Scale” but plays a big role in providing of employment and a big revenue earner for the state and industry. He assured all out assistance for the SMe sector and called upon the industry to come forward and meet the top officials under his aegis and list out their problems and promised a speedy action. “Our government is with you”, he concluded Mr Nirav Raveshia. President in his speech recalled the history of the association. He then recounted the growth of the Association and its regions over the years. “We are going to do some concrete work in the coming two years. We have to make our presence felt. We also have form a strong lobby to look after our interests.', he said. The MSME coordination committee and the Membership development and retention committees formed recently are performing well. ISSPA constitution which was made years back is now undergoing a major change and will be ready by September 2011. The technical committee which has been formed recently has been doing well. Taramati Baradari - Taramati Baradari is a palace located near Gandipet lake, that was built under the reign of Abdullah Qutb Shah, the Seventh Sultan of Golkonda as an ode to his favorite courtesan, Taramati. lifestyle. He called for the proper usage and control of

technology for the service of humanity. Dwelling upon the

US Plans for the Millennium Developer Goals, he said that

environment control, population control, health issues,

quality of life and education, human rights for all are the

common concerns.

He concluded by advising the entrepreneurs to seriously

draw up long term plans, respect the customer and find

ways to please him, do business with heart as well as

mind, protect environment, be united, nurture the spirit of

giving to help humanity and finally find ways to give back

to the community you live in.
