When you think about your prayers and your prayer life are you the Psalmist who says, “O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens” (Psalm 8:1)? Or are you the Psalmist who says, “How long, O Lord? Will Your forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me” (Psalm 13:1)? You see, the truth of the matter is both of these Psalms were written by the same man, David, and both these attitudes, both of these positions are held by us at any given moment. In life, there are the times when we think we could not be closer to God, His peace, His presence, and His provision are next to us and we are glad. Then there are those times when God is believed to be distant, disconnected, and we believe we are doomed. It’s the same heart, just in different positions in life, and we can all understand. Hear these words…the manner of prayer by our Lord was never meant to become the replacement of the vain repetitions of the prayers of the hypocrites. They were to reshape the way we prayed, the way we poured out our hearts to the Lord. According to Christianity Today’s website, “A Seattle man [was ordered to] shut down his "Pay for Prayer" website and three other businesses, and return as much as $7.75 million to consumers who paid for prayers. Attorney General Bob Ferguson led the charge against the Washington state based company. The agreement calls for Benjamin Rogovy to pay back money to approximately 165,000 customers who were victims of deceptive business practices that violated Washington's Consumer Protection Act. A Rogovin-owned for-profit website, the Christian Prayer Center, told visitors that prayer requests would be sent to "thousands" in a kind of Internet prayer circle. ‘Local churches and small group prayer lists have been a wonderful way to share the blessings of prayer, but these methods are limited in their ability to rally the true power of thousands of voices all praying in agreement,’ said the site. ‘The Internet has enabled us to Key to our understanding and use of prayer is to see it though the eyes of our Lord and His life. From our Lord we know that in moments of our greatest choices and our grandest challenges, prayer is the rock to which we cling for our stability and safety. It is the rock that the Psalmist extols as the one which is “higher than I.” I hope you know, when we have hedged our life in prayer, our God’s help through all of heaven will support our days. build a massive congregation to lift all your prayer requests to a whole new level.”

“I Hope You Know”

How is your prayer life? When you think about your prayers and your prayer life are you the Psalmist who says, “O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens” (Psalm 8:1)? Or are you the Psalmist who says, “How long, O Lord? Will Your forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me” (Psalm 13:1)? WE HAD A FANTASTIC SENIOR HIGH

FIRESIDE Sunday night in the Lighthouse. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a

wonderful evening. Our devo continued in the book of John as we looked more at

Discipleship and the “Risk vs Reward.” We

ended the evening watching the finalized video from the retreat. Thanks to Jim,

Leslie, Lexi, Dakota and Houston Hudgins and Chris, Jenny, and Grady Teet for

hosting. The video is available on our youth webpage or see me for a copy of it and the

hypnotist video too!

THE LAD 2 LEADER & LEADERETTE CONVENTION is this weekend! If you have

already spoken to Mike & Janice Brown about going, you will be meeting after

services on Wednesday. This is an

important meeting in preparation for the weekend.

COOKOUT, KITE FLIGHT, & EGG HUNT IS SATURDAY. This is for the whole

family to enjoy some time together playing at Camp Meribah. We will begin at 12 noon

with lunch and games then plans to end the

day with an egg hunt for elementary school age and pre school. The day should end up

around 2. Hotdogs, drinks, and the fixings will be provided. All we ask you to bring is

chips and/or cookies. Also, if you would like

to supply some eggs or candy for hunting, please drop them off to the church office by

Friday. CAN YOU BELIEVE APRIL IS ALMOST

HERE? Be sure you have a calendar with all

the things coming up. Also, Senior packets will soon be going out in preparation for

Senior Sunday, May 1. Seniors and current college students, be sure you are working

on getting those applications in for the Centerville Church of Christ Scholarship.

month so far and with the mowing season

approaching, it does not look to slow down. I

want to thank James Sullivan, Phillip Allen

to be at Camp this Saturday for the Easter Egg

Ribbon Cutting for the Davis House Child A d v o c a c y C e n t e r Centerville location will

be on April 8 at 9:30. This will be the day the Centerville Office officially opens its doors to join the offices in Franklin and Hohenwald. We are blessed to be able to house these facilities on our campus. The purpose of Davis House Child Advocacy Center is to combat child abuse by coordinating services to children and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. Services provided are Forensic Interviews, Child and Family Advocacy, Counseling, Court Support and more. Davis House assisted 505 children last year from Hickman, Williamson, Lewis, and Perry counties. Davis House works with families who are referred from the Department of Children Services, law enforcement and/or the justice system.

Remember those who are dealing with

an illness, in Nursing Homes and at

home with a card or a phone call.

Davis House Child Advocacy Center, a non-profit organization, is seeking a part-time

professional to conduct interviews of children in the context of a child abuse

investigation.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree related to Social

Science, Education, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Psychology or other helping profession is required; Master's preferred.

A minimum of three (3) years of

professional experience working with

children and families is required. Has certification in Forensic Interviewing

or is willing to be trained in Forensic Interview Techniques as a condition of employment.
