“I Hope You Know”
What shall we say then to these things? If God is for us,
who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)? Don’t you want someone on your side? Stop for one moment, and
consider the nature of the God of all creation, and His desire to see His creation given the best care, the greatest
supply, and the most preferred love. God is for us, He loves us, and He is fighting for us! How do we know this?
Paul said the evidence is found in “these things” which he had just written.
He had written previously. The truth which we want to
ignore but can’t was made known, sin is a reality. When hearts are plagued by the darkness of the word and when
we have surrendered more of our thoughts to reasoning than to righteousness, we struggle. The Holy Spirit
inspires Paul to tell a people who are living in a culture
filled with the pursuit of the knowledge of the world and who are enamored with the wisdom and learning of men,
and find no place or room for God’s righteousness to be placed as a priority, the descent away from God is not only
rapid, it is real. “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their
bodies among themselves” (Romans 1:24)…“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their
women exchanged the natural use for what is against
nature” (Romans 1:24)…“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;” (Romans 1:28).
What have you been previously? What is it about your life
that you have once said, done, lived or chosen that has planted a seed of doubt in your mind as to whether or not
you can be saved or are worth saving? What is it about your life of yesterday that has told you today, God does
not need you or think you are worth saving and loving? “What shall we say then to these things? If God is for us,
who can be against us?” Maybe your own worse enemy is
you? Maybe your own worse enemy is your own thoughts and doubts. No matter where you have been or where
There is what Paul wrote immediately. “There is
therefore now, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the
flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). There is no condemnation for the unrighteous,
sexually immoral, wicked, murder, deceitful, hater of God, homosexual, gossip, adulterer, unforgiving,
or unmerciful, when they are in Christ Jesus and walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh.
Think of the most vile and disgusting sin you can
think of, and that is the sin God is ready to forgive, if there is submission to His Son. Think of the most
terrible act of humanity another could commit, and that is the sin God wants to send away and make as
though it never happened, when we surrender to His Son.
There’s what Paul wrote ultimately. Ultimately,
there is no manner of threat of this world which can keep us from the Father (Romans 8;31-39). What
is going on in your life right now that you need to give up, change, surrender to God, or beg Him for
His help? I hope you know, God is pleading with you to come to Him and let Him help you overcome
this life and the struggles of this life.
you are coming from, God is ready and waiting to
save you. He is for those who want to be His!

THE CINICINNATI BLAST LIVED UP TO ITS NAME! 37 of the 20/30s and Senior High enjoyed the weekend seeing a Cincinnati Red’s comeback game, 14 hours at King’s Island, and some unforgettable memories and fun. As always it was a time of growing relationships and enjoying some fun times before school begins back. Thanks to Bill McDonald for the use of his van, to Brad Garland for driving the van, to Misty Shelton for helping with everything, and to all who went for a fantastic time. If you missed this year, plan now for Cincinnati Blast 2015!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THE TIME HAS COME! 22 of us will be boarding a bus leaving the parking at 5AM on Wednesday departing for the Turks & Caicos Islands Mission Trip. Once more, thank you
to so many who have supported this effort in so many ways! We look forward upon our return to give a full report of the good works and experiences we had on the trip. Pray for our safety, that much good will be done, and that God’s Word will be spread from our efforts and the efforts of the congregation there.
“IT ISN’T OUR POSITION BUT OUR DISPOSITION THAT MAKES US HAPPY.” Philippians 4:8 encourages us to dwell on the positive in life and through that “the God of peace shall be with you.” Seek the peace that God offers you through His Son and… follow His path, -Craig

“The Gospel Is For All”
Turks & Caicos Islands
Wednesday night, July 9, Monty Dunn presented an informative talk about the conditions in Turks and Caicos. He told of their need for a larger meeting place, the expensive cost of living, and of the
preparations for the upcoming youth mission trip. He also told of their love for the truth and how they use their meeting place with daily activities. Sunday, of course for worship; Monday is Prayer meeting, every other Tuesday for Ladies’ class; Wednesday is Bible class; Thursday for Training class; Friday a New Converts class, and a Youth class.
Western US Missions
John Smith preached at Yellowstone
Bible Camp in Montana, where a young lady responded to the Gospel, and was baptized in the freezing waters of the creek that runs through the camp. Some other locations where he has preached this summer are Pahaska, Wyoming; Missoula and Hamilton, MT. John held a 5 lesson gospel meeting in Hamilton. Prayers are requested that the Word pricks the hearts of those who listen and encourage them to stay the course.
Uganda Missions
Emmanuel Mwizerwa has recently been carrying the Gospel message into
Rwanda, (country next to Uganda, where the 1994 genocide occurred, where over 800,000 people were killed in 100 days). He translated teaching materials into their language of Kinyararwanda. Recently, some members of our congregation sent some grape juice because of the difficulty of finding and purchasing the fruit of the vine there. It arrived at a time, when 3 of the congregations were completely out and in need for the following Sunday’s Lord’s Supper. In Uganda, there are needs for Bibles, songbooks, printing songs into other languages, and fruit of the vine. Contributions for Uganda missions can be made out to the Centerville Church of Christ, designated for Uganda. It can be given in the church office to Tammy or Shane, or Jerry Nash.
