Today we continue our yearlong journey through the Bible by focusing on David being anointed King while Saul was technically still ruling over the people of Israel (1 Samuel 16). When Samuel anointed David, God’s Spirit rushed upon him from that day forward. Many years later, Jesus came as God’s anointed one in the line of David. Jesus was also filled with God’s spirit and he proclaimed the good news of God’s kingdom. Therefore, may we put our trust in God’s true anointed one, Christ our King.

Come Holy Spirit.

Fill the hearts of thy faithful people and kindle in us the fire of thy love.

Remember to pray for:

Western District Conference: In the midst of this busy season, attend one of the many special programs that celebrate the arrival of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Celebrate in song, art, drama and worship! Thank God for church staff and volunteers who have dreamed and planned and offered their gifts to make these celebrations come alive.

Mennonite Mission Network: Justin Shenk and Valerie Showalter of MMN request prayer for the Round Chapel where they worship and serve in the East End of London. Pray for unity of vision as members discern how God is calling the congregation to proactive discipleship.

Mennonite Education Agency: Lezha (Albania) Academic Center would appreciate prayers as they enter the holiday season. This time of year gives many opportunities to talk about topics of faith and celebrate the grace and gift of salvation. Please pray that they will make the most of the opportunities to share this "Good News" with their students.
