Chamber CEO... Chamber Seeking Community Nominations for 2017 Winter Gala
The Tracy Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing the merits of individuals in the community for over 50 years through the annual Community Recognition Awards. These awards are presented to individuals in the following areas:
Male/Female Citizen of the Year Entrepreneur of the Year Professional of the Year Organization of the Year Business of the Year Educator of the Year Emerging Youth Leader of the Year With preparations underway for the 2017 Winter Gala where the Community Recognition Awards will be celebrated, the Chamber would like to ask you as a member of our community, to consider submitting a nomination form for someone you feel has contributed to the Tracy community in a positive way. Anyone can submit a nomination form regardless if you are a member of the Chamber. The deadline to submit nominations is Thursday, November 17th. You can download the nomination form from the Chamber website, www.tracychamber.org or you can call the Chamber office to have a form faxed or emailed to you, 209-835-2131. After collecting all of the nominations, the Chamber’s nominating committee comprised of former winners and Chamber board members will review the nominations and select the winners. Winners will be announced at a press conference held at the Chamber office in early December. Members of the public are invited to attend the press conference to celebrate the announcement of the 2016 Community Recognition Award winners. The Winter Gala will take place Friday, January 27th at the
Tracy Community Center and will be the first black tie
event of 2017. I hope you will consider joining us for a
memorable night filled with elegance and entertainment! If

City... Economic Development Update:
Economic Development staff just returned from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) where meetings were held with BJ’s Restaurants, Planet Fitness, Boot Barn, Dress Barn, Rock & Jump, SteinMart, and LaQuinta.
Jersey Mike’s Subs will be opening next to Mel’s Diner in the Tracy Marketplace.
MOD Pizza, and Habitat Burger will be tenants in Parcel B next to Chipotle/Panera on Naglee Rd.
The Venue Nightclub is now open in The Shops at Northgate Village. Also coming to The Shops are La Huacana Nightclub and Knight Life, a fencing & archery entertainment center.
Traditions Martial Arts Academy is seeking approval to locate at the Pavilion Parkway Suites.
The City received 3 applications for funding under the Façade Improvement Grant Program. All three projects received partial funding of the approx. $35,000 in CBDG funds for the 2016-17 program year.

Downtown... The Downtown Tracy Farmers Market continues every Saturday through October 29th from 8AM-1PM on 10th St. between Central Ave and B. St.
The Tracy City Center Association will host its annual Halloween Trick-Or-Treating and Costume March on Saturday, October 29th.
The City of Tracy sponsored Girl’s Night Out: Witches and Broomsticks event will be held Friday, October 21st at the Down-town Plaza (6th St. & Central Ave). Tickets are available for $25 online www.atthegrand.org This event will sell out, so don’t wait to purchase your ticket. Evolution Journey Tribute and Long Time Boston Tribute Band will come to the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts on Friday, October 21st at 8PM. Winter Wonderland Prince & Princess Ball Toy Drive October 1st - December 1st Environmental Alternatives Foster Family Agency will be holding their 2nd annual toy drive. They are in need of toys/items for kids 0-20 years old. They are also accepting gift cards and cash donations.
