It was established with a grant by the National Science Foundation tobring together a team of computer scientists, physical oceanographers,paleoceanographers, and geophysicists from WHOI, UC Davis, and UC Santa Barbarato reconstruct the past ocean circulation from sparse geochemical data collected fromfossils in deep-sea sedimentary cores.
