Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
Easter Holidays! How quickly the half term has gone.
I would like to thank you all, very much, for the wonderful welcome I have received, not only from your children, but
from yourselves. It has been such a lovely start for me as Principal!
Houses Your child has been allocated a new house, and from next term, House Points will be awarded. At the end of each
half term a House Point Trophy will be awarded. Using a House Point System, ensures that children are working
collectively and not just for themselves, having a sense of pride in their House.
In September, House and Vice Captains will be elected, by the children, from Year 3. Sports Day this year will be run
as a House competition and the House Sports Trophy will be awarded at the end of the day.
Summer Uniform Hopefully the sun will shine next term and it will get warmer! If you wish to send your daughter in summer dresses –
please do! (Navy blue and white gingham check).
Friends of School We had a great meeting this week, with lots of ideas for fund raising. Look out for the “FOURS” Newsletter after the
holiday - “Friends of Our School”!
Phonics Evening Many thanks to all the parents who came to the Year 1 Phonics Evening this week. It was a really informative session
with Miss P Chandarana and Miss S Rai.
Education City We are trialling in school a new software package to aid learning and teaching – called Education City. I have
secured a free home access trial for 21 days. Attached with this Newsletter, is the information you need for the
holiday period.
I would very much welcome your feedback on the package, do let your class teacher know.
We will also be asking your children about their experiences with it. Your views are very important, so let me know!
Sainsbury’s Vouchers These finish at the end of May. Please can we have a huge effort to collect the tokens – ask family and friends too.
The equipment we will purchase with them is of such good quality! I will ensure the collection box is outside the
Worship Hall each morning, as a reminder!!
Finally I would wish you every blessing this Easter, enjoy the 2 week break – and don’t eat too much chocolate.
Kindest regards
Mary Lawson BPhil

and how people used to live. They had lots of
questions to ask.
EYFS TRIP TO STONEHURST FARM
EYFS enjoyed glorious weather for their trip to the farm. On arrival we were greeted by a family of chickens! The children experienced a variety of farm animals such as pigs, cows and sheep. They collected eggs from the chicken coupes, watched chicks hatching from eggs and also saw a lamb being born! The children went on a nature walk where they hunted for mini beasts and went pond dipping. One of the highlights of the trip was climbing the steep hill and rolling down.
