California CO2 Emissions California produces

roughly 1.4 % of the world's, and 6.2 % of the total U.S., greenhouse gases

Each California resident, per population average, produces approximately 11 Tons of CO2 each year.

All though the per capita CO2 emission is lower than most states in the U.S., California’s large population makes it the 2nd biggest CO2 producer in the country. The 1St in the country being Texas.
