I am a commercially astute and energetic ICT Executive with more than 20 years of Information &

Communication Technology experience.

I consistently demonstrate an ability to deliver business value through technology enablement and

bring deep understanding to technology strategy, operations and service delivery, complex

technology transformation projects, change and stakeholder management, vendor management,

and risk management.

Over the past 20 years I have developed project expertise in the Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR,

Infrastructure and IT Operations.

11 Year History

October 2015 – Current – Secure Access IT

Contract General Manager

I was contracted to reinvent this organisation during a period of significant industry change, and

return it to profitability. Secure Access is a small technology service provider on the Sunshine Coast

in Queensland. Secure Access has revenues of around $4m, employs 15 full t ime personnel and half

a dozen contractors, and specialises in delivering ‘Better Business Technology’ to businesses inside

their 150km radius sandbox.

Developed three-year IT strategy and business, personnel, marketing plans (Gazelles

methodology);

Reinvented and reinvigorated sales, technology service delivery and administration teams;

Successfully introduced several, leading edge technology products;

Developed and implemented processes for:

o Organisational risk management;

o Organisational restructure;

o Service delivery (ITIL);

o Project management (MPMM).

Authored general documentation including contracts, employment agreements, product

agreements, marketing collateral, et al;

Returned the business to profitability.

Contract Project Director / Project Manager / Senior Business Analyst

I was brought in to drive a food & beverage POS (point of sale) implementation to the point of

implementation. Campus Life is the corporate services division of Macquarie University.

Determined project objectives and business drivers;

Managed cross functional stakeholders;

Facilitated documentation of business process architecture and improvement of key

business processes;

Completed all project documentation (charter, plan, risk / change / communication

management, data migration, integration et al) and then handed over to vendor and internal

team to complete implementation.

2012 – March 2015, 98 Fish PTY LTD

Director

A business start-up and opportunity to enjoy a different pace of life on the Sunshine Coast in

Queensland, reconnect with family and work with my wife for a season (AKA sea change). With

second year revenues exceeding $1.2m, excellent EBITDA and employing 10 permanent staff, we

offered a large range of stunning, sustainably fished Fresh Australian Seafood, a wide range

of Frozen Seafood, Gourmet Products and delicious, cooked to order Takeaway Fish & Chips.

This business was commercially satisfying, and we did well out of the sale in March 2015.

2011 – 2012, Victoria Racing Club Limited

Contract Program Manager

With revenues of $150m (2012), employing 170 permanents and over a thousand casual staff, the

Victoria Racing Club runs 23 race meetings per year in addition to the iconic Melbourne Cup Carnival

and several other large outdoor events.

Developed 5-year IT strategy, associated program of work and IT governance model;

Implemented IT Program Office, and Project Management process;

Progressed several large, complex projects from feasibility through requirements gathering,

RFT, high-level design, business case, board approval, implementation plans, impact analysis,

business process models and change plans;

Large, cross functional project team (20+);

Facilitated implementation of key ITIL processes to improve IT Service Delivery;

Chief Information Officer, Senior Executive

With 25 offices, revenues of $100m (2010) and employing more than 3500 staff, Australian Home

Care Services (incorporating Healthcare at Home Australia and Nationwide Health and Aged Care

Services) provides in home Personal Care, Home Help / Domestic Assistance, Independent Living /

Attendant Care, Respite, Home and Garden Maintenance, Supported Accommodation, commercial

cleaning, commercial laundry and mobile chemotherapy to more than 5000 clients in Queensland,

New South Wales and Victoria.

Executive responsibility for IT, business systems and telecommunication strategy, projects

and operations;

Developed 5-year IT strategy, program of work and governance model to consolidate

business systems, reduce cost, improve scalability and re-focus technology strategy on

customers at the point of service delivery;

Standardised and merged disparate operational systems improving operational efficiency,

management information, business scalability, financial controls and reducing cost;

Took ownership of a failing ERP implementation and returned it to viability;

Improved IT service delivery, enabled business scalability and technology flexibility. I

transitioned IT Services (including telecommunications, infrastructure, service delivery

process, project process and service desk) out of a corporate shared service (managed by

the parent company) to stand alone platforms;

operations;

Developed and executed a technology strategy that refocussed technology as a business

enabler;

Developed and implemented a standards (PMBOK / Prince) based fit for purpose project

management methodology;

Architected and led Infrastructure, Operational Systems (PDA Based), ERP, Intranet and

EDRMS projects;

Managed a large project and capital works portfolio that included construction and utilities;

Member of what is now the Aged and Community CIO Executive Council;

5 full time reports plus contractors and seconded project personnel.
