• Ansel Adams was born Feb 20,1904 in San Francisco, California. He died Apr. 22, 1984

North Cascades National Park

• Ansel Adams grew up in a house in the Sand Dunes of the Goldengate. When he was four there was a big earthquake making him fall flat on his face breaking his nose.

With Adams Crooked nose it made it very hard for him to fit in at school being very shy and timid to begin with. Ansel Adams parents sent him to a few different privateSchools, but he may have suffered from ADD or possibly dyslexia, because Ultimately his father and his aunt home schooled him. When he finally graduated and got his diploma his education was equivalent to about the eighth grade.

Moraine Lake, Sequoia National Park

Ansel Adams took to nature at a young age having few friends where he lived. He spent most of his childhood collecting bugs around Golden Gate, and hiking Lobos Creek. At the age of tweleve Ansel Adams began to learn piano from a instructor. It was his intended profession up until 1920 when he chose photography over piano.

Lakes and Cliffs, Sierra Nevada

• Ansel Adams first visited Yosemite National Park when he was fourteen. He loved the park so much that his dad bought him his first kodak camera to document his experience. He returned the following year on his own with a better camera and a tripod to take better photos. In the following years to come he begins to take better photos and starts to like photography over piano.

Mount McKinley and Wonder Lake, Denali National Park

Ansel Adams met Virginia Best . The daughter of the owner of a photostudio in 1928. He inherited the studio on her fathers passing in 1935. Ansel Adams ran the studio until 1971. Now known as the Ansel Adams Gallery. The gallery is in the hands of the Adams family.

Aspens, Northern New Mexico

• In September 1983, Ansel Adams was in bed for four weeks after having surgery on his leg to remove a tumor. Ansel Adams died in April, 1984 from cardiovascular disease.
