Reciprocal parking Anyone who has a University of Colorado Downtown Campus, Anschutz Medical Campus, CU Boulder Campus, Colorado Springs Campus or Auraria parking permit may participate in the University’s reciprocal parking program. This program allows permit holders to park in designated parking lots on any other CU campus and Anschutz Medical Campus at no additional cost. Please visit the reciprocal parking section of the Parking and Transportation website at: http://administration.ucdenver.edu/admin/facilities/parking/reciprocal.htm for additional information about the reciprocal parking program and to learn the location of reciprocal parking lots on the CU and Auraria campuses. Additional options Through the Auraria Campus, the University’s downtown Denver employees can purchase RTD’s Eco Pass, which allows unlimited bus rides at a discounted rate. Auraria also offers a package called Eco Pass Plus which provides an Eco Pass and parking only for the days people need to drive their personal vehicle. With Eco Pass Plus, people can still participate in the reciprocal parking program. Please contact the Auraria Parking office at 303-556-2000 for more information.

Long-term transportation plans: Transportation Management Authority (TMA)

The major current and future partners at the Anschutz Medical Campus have formed the Transportation Management Authority (TMA). These partners are: University of Colorado Denver,

University of Colorado Hospital, The Children’s Hospital, The Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority and the City of Aurora. It is expected that other entities will become involved as the campus grows. The TMA was formed to address potential traffic congestion and accessibility issues for the Fitzsimons area. By late 2009, it is expected that approximately 30,000 people will be on the Anschutz Medical Campus daily, and while the campus will be served by two light rail stations by 2015, the potential for area-wide traffic congestion is an issue best addressed now. The TMA has been established to have a greater chance of accomplishing more than any one partner could accomplish alone. A major function of the TMA is to serve as an advocate for the transportation needs of the Anschutz community. This involves working with RTD and other local transit providers to improve routing and services and working with governments on laws that can impact transportation in the Anschutz area. The TMA addresses transportation challenges, and gives the campus a unified voice for enhanced transportation investments and resources in the area. Other functions include conducting and supporting ridesharing promotional events, promoting alternative forms of transportation, helping to form and promote vanpools and carpools, manage parking resources, promoting the use of bicycles and more. Please visit the Transportation Management Authority website for more information. http://www.fitzsimonstma.com/

Eco Pass - The Eco Pass is an annual RTD transit pass. With a photo ID card, you can ride all RTD services (excluding Special Services) 7 days a week for an entire year. You can ride:

Eco Pass Plus - The Eco Pass Plus is a program designed to give Eco Pass holders an opportunity to park in a permit lot on the Auraria Campus (reserved space and in and out privileges) on days they choose to take their vehicle to campus. This program works well for those who have meetings at odd times or lunch dates. The Eco Pass Plus option has a minimum of two parking usages per month at the current daily parking rate per usage. You are charged via a credit card once a month based upon the number of times you park in a particular month. There is no obligation to use the program but if you sign up you will be charged for at least two days usage whether you use it or not. For example: Eco Pass: $32.00; Three days usage of the parking plus: $15.00: So the total transportation cost for the month is $47.00 The Auraria parking lot closest to the CU-Dravo and Lawrence Street Center buildings is lot M, where a few parking plus spaces are located. Generally, if someone is interested in trying the program, Auraria gives them a free month to test it. For more information about Eco Pass or Eco Pass Plus, please call the Auraria Parking Office at 303-556-2006.
