Q: How do I know if my Hunter Douglas

motorized shades are compatible with the

Platinum App?

A: The Platinum App is compatible with all

PowerRise® 2.1 and PowerGlide® 2.1 products.

This can be verified by the “Platinum App

Certified” label affixed to the power cable

attached to the shade motor cable.

Q: Why does the Android™ App look different

than the Apple® App?

A: Due to differences in operating systems and

user interfaces, the apps have different design

elements but operate the same way.

Q: Will I need to buy a new Bridge for my

Android device?

A: No. The Bridge receives the commands

from the Platinum App regardless of what kind

of device is being used. Apple and Android

products can be used interchangeably with the

same Platinum Bridge to control Hunter Douglas

motorized window fashions.

Q: Is there going to be a Platinum App for

Blackberry and Windows devices?

A: No. At this time the Platinum App will remain

exclusively Apple and Android.

Q: How many Platinum Repeaters do I need

to operate my shades?

A: Hunter Douglas recommends at least one

Platinum Repeater per room with motorized

shades to improve signal strength. Additional

repeaters may be necessary in the same room

for optimal coverage.

Q: Do I still need a Platinum remote or

wireless wall switch to operate my shades?

A: A Platinum remote or wireless wall switch is

highly recommended in addition to using the

Platinum App. These devices act as an alternate

control method and a set-up tool (i.e., use the

remote to set an intermediate stop position for

a shade).

Q: What do I do when my device prompts me

to update the App?

A: During an update, do not exit the Platinum

App and be sure that your device does not time

out or power off because updates are also sent

to the Bridge firmware. Be patient and enjoy

your new, free features!

Q: Do I need an Internet connection to set up

the Platinum™ App to control my shades?

A: No, an internet connection is not necessary

for the Platinum App to work. The Platinum App

controls Hunter Douglas motorized window

fashions over your home network.

Q: What is the range of the Platinum Bridge

or Platinum Repeater?

A: in open space without interference, the

wireless signals can travel up to 250 ft. in a

closed environment, such as a home, range

will vary based on household construction and

devices being used in the home. Hunter Douglas

recommends at least one Platinum Repeater per

room with motorized shades.

Q: Can the Platinum Bridge be used to

integrate Hunter Douglas window fashions

with a home automation system?

A: At this time, the Platinum Bridge cannot be

used for home automation integration. Please

contact motorization@hunterdouglas.com for

questions regarding home automation systems.
