5 years of

victories

2016 will always be kept in our memory. It was a period of great challenges; it is true, but also of huge victories for the Group, the company and the professionals. During these 365 days, we were challenged to face the difficulties present globally and in all spheres of our society. In this moment, we have proved the benefits of a strategy that we have been proud of and that showed, once more, to be the most assertive to our business: focus on people.

It was impressive to see how our professionals made our company move forward in such difficult moment for the country. Together, we assumed the responsibility for building a proper, favorable for business and prosper environment. We broke records, expanded capacities, better harnessed our resources, expanded our horizons, planned and implemented improvements that were and will be fruitful for the next years. We grew up as a company and as people. We recognized and have been recognized. We were elected as the 4th best company to work at Piracicaba and its region. Moreover, everything while we completed only five years in Brazil! It seems a little time, and it could be, but the courage to face the challenges has given us such maturity and confidence that we can assure that the next years will be even better.

At OJI, health and safety are non-negotiable values. Safe and clean work environments, free of diseases and accidents provide more pleasure and comfort for collaborators, contributing to the improvement of people and their quality of life. In this sense, the company has made great investments related to improvements on the areas conditions and on accidents prevention and occupational diseases programs.

In 2016, company’s professionals participation in the search for the main goal, Zero Accidents, has significantly increased, showing the engagement and commitment of all to a safer environment and reflecting directly on the accurate results

The engine of the OJI PAPÉIS ESPECIAIS productive sector is the constant innovation and the DNA of always searching for more. Producing with quality and competitiveness, the sector reached in 2016 numbers and historical results, contributing to the organization growth an making OJI an organization even stronger in the Latin- American market.

• Installation of the new quality control system (QCS) and the sheet temperature control system in the PC-2, increasing its reliability and in the measurements and creating productive gains.

FOCUS ON PEOPLEWith the motto Solidarity, Empathy, Respect and Humility, the SERH was implemented in finishing at the beginning of 2016. The SERH made difference in the area, increasing productivity, improving even more the climate and reducing the absenteeism.The program should be expanded to Paper Machines and Logistics in 2017.

MAXIMUM UTILIZATION OF RESOURCES

• Reduction of 0.65% on finishing losses in factory in 2016.

• Reduction of 5.06% on the variable cost compared to the approved budget in 2016.

Historical Results• The largest production of thermal paper in company’s

history, 6% above of the foreseen budget, with the production of 69472 tons.

• Beginning of tests for PC-1 thermal paper production aiming at increasing the thermal paper availability in the market.

• Multilayer Curtin Coating - MCC - Approved: Start-up scheduled to the end of May/17 that aims at increasing the thermal papers production capacity.

In 2016, the R&D area stood out with a performance beyond expectation. The proud of being part of a team, which constantly thinks about innovation, created a favorable environment, generating new formulas to make dreams come true about special papers.

Highlights

• Development and study about the definition of Multilayer Curtain Coater (MCC)

• Improvement of KPR paper (Printer paper for tax coupons). Project with high potential to reduce costs.

• Sensitization Project JPF: elaborated in partnership with the supplier CHT/Quimipel; the work resulted in the reduction of costs for the company that needed to import the material from Japan. Now, it was nationalized.

The team visited Kansan, Germany, to exchange experiences about MCC.

Being even closer and building, together, solid and sustainable values. This is the first mission of the OJI PAPÉIS ESPECIAIS Commercial area when we talk about market relationship. With every clients, the trust relationship, based on transparency and credibility, is a fuel for solutions created together, promoting mutual growth and development in a very demanding and high competitive market.

Important as producing is transporting with confidence, safety and quality. For this, in the last year the logistics sector of OJI PAPÉIS ESPECIAIS kept moving forward and growing in new initiatives, organization and partnerships. The result was the clients’ satisfaction and the conviction that, besides paper, every truck also took confidence and credibility of OJI around the country.

All vehicles that transport the OJI papers pass through inspections before loading and, if there is any irregularity, the vehicle is blocked.

Producing in a sustainable way and with the less possible impact on the environment is one of the valued propositions by OJI PAPÉIS ESPECIAIS. Besides completely meeting the legal requirements, the company works every day to reduce the waste generation and harnessing even more the used resources, preserving nature and establishing a harmony and sustainable relationship with the environment.
