Message from the Executive Director

From ATAP’s soft launch in the fall of 2016 through the end of ATAP’s first full year of existence (ending March 30, 2018), it’s incredible to consider what was accomplished in such a short period of time. ATAP was a grassroots effort from the very start, built upon the ideas and efforts of volunteers dedicated to advancing the talent acquisition profession. If ATAP’s first year was primarily about launching a new professional association, ATAP’s 2nd year (FY18) was about the starting the execution of ATAP’s mission. I have been incredible proud of having the opportunity to lead ATAP through its formative stages and believe strongly that ATAP is in a strong position to advance the profession in the years and decades ahead.

As an all-volunteer run non-profit, ATAP’s growth has been steady and consistent. In FY18 we saw ATAP’s membership grow steadily, including the addition of new sponsors and corporate members. ATAP co-launched with KRT Marketing the very first Global TA Day on September 5th, which was celebrated in-person and virtually by thousands of TA professionals around the world. We released ATAP’s first measurement standard at the Fall 2018 SourceCon conference in Atlanta. The tremendous effort that went into developing this set of Sourcing Metrics has been well received and is in the process of being adopted by individual sourcers and sourcing teams alike. ATAP also recognized the demand for certification is only growing, so we responded by researching and launching a global database of TA certifications that ATAP members could access to become better educated about what was in the marketplace. Webinars delivered by ATAP and cross-promoted with ATAP sponsors were also provided, just the first in many educational opportunities that will be provided to ATAP members moving forward.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are professional associations, especially those that are 100% volunteer-driven. It’s the hard work and commitment by numerous ATAP volunteers that are making a difference every day in advancing our profession. It’s been a tremendous honor to lead ATAP in it’s first two-plus years. I thank our members, our sponsors, and our volunteers for making ATAP’s mission a reality, and am excited to see that mission continue to expand in FY19 and beyond!

Message from the Board President

As we end our second year and launch into our third year, ATAP is evolving from start-up to growth mode! ATAP ends our second year with a net growth in membership, more sponsors and many initiatives completed and underway.

One highlight of the year was the Inaugural Annual Global TA Day. TA professionals had celebration events in many locations as we recognized the impact of our profession. The tradition will continue the first Wednesday after Labor Day each year.

As we have been transitioning into growth mode, we have been preparing to add another member to our Board of Directors, and to start the process to hire a full-time Executive Director. We believe that these moves will enable ATAP to achieve its growth goals and ambitions faster and more aggressively. These new additions should be made by early FY19. Stay tuned for announcements when we've made these appointments.
