Dear Readers,
It is my absolute pleasure in presenting to you the Annual Day Report of one of the fastest
developing school in the Western Maharashtra. This year has been a very eventful one for
us. We have made great efforts to transform ourselves completely into the latest CBSE
format and have been extremely successful in most of our endeavors. Apart from
preparing the children to qualify for purely academic demands, special efforts are being
made continuously to enable them to face the challenges of the competitive world. It’s a
matter of great importance to us that the students who pass out from our portals should
carry forward the values they have inherited, excel in whatever they do and be role
models in the society.
School respects the individual needs of children; cherish a caring and creative
environment; and emphasizes the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, moral
development of each child those who will have active and creative minds, a sense of
understanding, compassion for others and the courage to act on their beliefs.
To provide holistic and integral development to students enabling them to grow as
persons of character, competence, conscience, compassion and commitment, who will
take their rightful place in the society contributing to build a new and better India and
who will be independent thinkers, problem solvers, decision makers and active
participants in society. We strive to have our parents, teachers and community members
actively involved on our students' learning without distinction of race, religion, caste or
social status.
Our School is committed to the all-round development of our students and hence various
extra-curricular activities are organized round the year.
We realize that education is a fundamental need for the complete development of
individuals. As a premier teaching institute, we endeavor to harness this inherent
potential through meeting the growing needs of higher technical education. As we grow,
we will expand into new technologies, methodologies, disciplines, resources and even
attitudes.
Ours is an ISO Certified School and we maintain the quality in running the school as per
the requirement of ISO 9001:2015.
At present, there are 1,445 students on roll with Teachers, 65 Teachers, 16 Administrative
Staff and 82 Supporting Staff. The Student Teacher Ratio is 22:1.

zest. The flag was unfurled and the Parade was

success in different sports and intellectual
competitions. The Chief Guest addressed the
gathering and encouraged all to serve the nation with mind and might. The presence of school
dignitaries, parents and well-wishers added glory to the function with their gracious presence.
Parent-Teacher Association:
School, teachers and parents play vital role in
holistic development of the child. Parents are the
first mentor of the child and the teacher is the
second. Both have an immense contribution and
responsibility in shaping child’s personality.
Trust and mutual understanding between parent
and teacher is a real secret of child’s happy learning.
Support and Cooperativeness from parents towards
teacher helps a lot to connect, understand and
work towards child. Remarkable positive change
is seen in a child if the parents and teacher
understand and work hand in hand. A good
parent teacher relationship leads child to be
positive towards attending school. All these
thoughts gave soar to the formation Parent
Teacher Association (PTA) in Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla International School.
In SVYEMS, all the parents are invited for being a part of the PTA. A formal meeting was called for the
selection of PTA in democratic manner. The elected PTA members came together and elected the
President and Vice President for the academic year. This year Mr. Pratap Patil was elected as the
President and Mrs. Rashmi Lagare was elected and the Vice President of the PTA. All the members of PTA
were felicitated and guided about their role and responsibility in the Parent Teacher Association by the
PTA Secretary. The PTA met frequently and discussed the points as per agenda. The discussion was
generally about the Academic Development, forming rules and regulations, etc.
The main role of the PTA was to build strong working relationships among parents, teachers and school,
in support of students. PTA focused on what students need to be successful in their learning, including
nutrition, health, school safety, physical fitness and general well-being.
School Management Committee:
As per the Act of Central Education Rights, School Management Committee should be formed and
reorganized once in 2 years in all government schools except unaided institutions. The SMC
representatives at our school were elected from a General body meeting inclusive of all parents. It
comprised elected representatives from local self-government, elected representatives of the parents
and teacher representatives, etc.
The School Management Committee of VYIS functions very effectively. The regular meetings of the SMC
help the school function in an effective manner. The major decisions like Appointments of New Staff,
Infrastructure and other development activities, Textbooks and the School Policy, School Timing, etc are
taken by the SMC.
