FutureChallengesandConcerns

• Decliningenrollmentduetothefactthatthefivevocationalprogramshavebeendiscontinuedandwereinteaching-outmode.

• Two full-time faculty resigned. This is partially explained by the fact thatwe have lowsalariesandthereisalackofsignificantsalaryraisesofferedtofaculty.Facultyturnoversare still a factor that affects the long term plans and commitments of the College ofEngineeringandTechnology.

• Security issues affected the computer infrastructure of the College of Engineering andTechnology.Morethansevencomputerswerestolenfromourfacilities.

• Lack of technical support: College of Engineering and Technology does not have a labtechnician.Maintenancehasbecomeanoverwhelmingissueduetolackofpersonnelandtheincreaseofequipmentacquisitions.

• TheDeanoftheCollegeofEngineeringTechnologywasrecentlyappointedastheInterimProvost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, but he keeps the duties of the Deanposition. This may compromise the stability and supervision level at the College ofEngineering and Technology and may impact the re-accreditation cycle if it is notaddressedsoon.
