FOREWORD

I am pleased to present the Annual Report and Financial Documents of

National Association for the Blind, Delhi for the year 2017-18. The essence of

our achievements and way ahead has been presented in the report. The

continued achievements of this organization are attributed in large measure,

to the committed employees who have consistently worked beyond the call of

duty to protect and enforce the rights of persons with visual impairment and

low vision.

The organization has been working towards empowering persons with visual

impairment and low vision for 39 years now. The organization, through its

efforts continues to educate, provide skills and rehabilitate persons with

visual impairment to make them independent, self-reliant, and better decision

makers not only for themselves but also for their families. During this period,

all projects have made significant progress, the student admission and

participation has increased and our students have also performed

significantly better in their board exams.

The organization will continue to work closely with key stakeholders in order

to achieve its mandate; however, there is a need of additional resources to

adequately meet the needs of the organization and its beneficiaries.

In this successful journey, I would like to recognize, appreciate and laud the

contributions made by Governing Council, Staff, Donors, Volunteers and

Well Wishers. It has been a cohesive efforts of all involved that has brought

the organization here and motivates us to be better.

WAY FORWARD

National Association for the Blind, Delhi has been striving hard to make quality

education and training accessible to all visually impaired persons. However, with time

we realized that there are a number of visually impaired elderly who are on the streets

or living with minimum support. This realization paved way for NAB Delhi‘s most

ambitious Project, An Old Age Home for the Elderly that is being constructed in Sector

11, Dwarka. We need support and contribution for the same.
