Dear Members

It is, indeed, a matter of great pleasure and honor to welcome you all to the 22nd Annual

General Body Meeting of CHETANAA. True to its name, this year also CHETANAA continued

with the momentum injected by Late Dr. Sharda Kumari, our Founder President, and ably

sustained by a wonderful team of dedicated workers. CHETANAA has continued to surge

ahead in its activities and made its mark in the field of education by providing facilities to the

underprivileged children and making them self-reliant as well as responsible citizens.

As you know CHETANAA is running an after- school program. Starting in 1990 with 20 children,

now, we have more than 250 children on the rolls of CHETANAA. These children are motivated

to stay regular and dedicated towards their studies- both in their Government Schools and at

CHETANAA. Besides assisting in their studies and homework, the children are guided on

personality development, communication skills, confidence building and acquiring a strong

value system through various extra-curricular and sports activities. They are exposed and

educated on social issues, current affairs, hygiene, sanitation, good manners etc. by dedicated

teachers and members of CHETANAA.

2011-2012 was an important and successful year for CHETANAA. With the support of our donors, we were able to achieve significant success. Highlights of this year include:

Our student Ravi, son of Mr Chander Bhan, a daily wager, completed his

course in Polytechnic Institute, Panchkula. He got a job of Supervisor in

Godrej Company, Chandigarh, at a salary of Rs 13,000/- per month. He was

getting scholarship from Late Shri C.R.Memorial Trust.

Seeta, daughter of late Shri Balbir Singh, comes from a conservative family.

She completed the course of CPCA from a computer center after passing XII.

Seeta got the job of an accountant in L.I.C., New Delhi, at a salary of Rs.

15,000/-per month. Having defied all the barriers, Seeta is now a major

support to her family.

Hari Chand will be appearing for his final Exam of B.Sc. Computer Science in June 2012. Hari

Chand scored 74% marks in B.Sc II and has cleared written test for job in Banks. CHETANAA

will support his education if he gets admission in M.C.A.

Ajay, a student of class XII, aspires to become a cricketer.

Proud moment came for CHETANAA when Ajay was selected

as captain of the Indian team for the T-20 Indo Nepal

Tournament organized by Pokhra, Nepal. In which teams of

Nepal, India and Bangladesh participated. Indian team played

the final against Nepal and won the match.
