NHS Long Term PlanOver 300 people took part in our work on the NHS Long Term Plan for Halton
• Having access to the help and treatment they need when they want it
• Easier access to GP appointments, longer appointments and improvements to the GP phone systems
• Being able to stay in their own home for as long as possible
• Choosing the right treatment being a joint decision between the person and the relevant health and care professional
• The ability to talk to their doctor or health professional wherever they are was most important.
• People with Cancer believe there needs to be greater capacity in Halton in terms of more GPs and specialist services provided locally rather than having to travel for treatment.
• People with Mental Health conditions wanted waiting times to access support and the information and support to be shorter.
• Those with Long Term Conditions such as diabetes or arthritis also found waiting times to be slow, but were more positive about the quality of the actual support they received.
