Lea r n ing Ob j ec t ive sAt the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

» Improve the performance of ERCP and EUS in the community by understanding establishedindications, contraindications, techniques to optimize success, and minimize adverse events. Thisincludes advanced and alternative methods of bile duct access and to employ palliative therapyoptions of neoplastic lesions in the pancreas and bile duct.

» Implement the best endoscopic identification and treatment strategies for patients with Barrett'sesophagus and understand the importance of the role of new techniques and technologies toimprove and expand treatment options and enhance patient education of alternatives to minimallyinvasive and open surgical options.

» Integrate practice guidelines and expert opinion in the identification and treatment of complexcolonic polyps and patients at risk for polyposis syndromes. Implement the best endoscopictechniques to remove pre-malignant colonic lesions and to determine when surgical resection maybe necessary.

» Identify malignant biliary and pancreatic diseases by fluoroscopy, cholangioscopy, andcytohistopathology and summarize the endoscopic, medical and surgical options for management.

» Incorporate the most current society practice guidelines in the reprocessing of flexible GIendoscopes.
