THE 2011-2012 ANNUAL GIVING APPEAL The St. Francis High School Annual Giving Appeal was initiated in 1990 so that alumni, parents, friends and alumni parents of St. Francis High School could demonstrate their mutual support for the continued growth of the institution. Throughout our history, St. Francis High School has been blessed by many generous benefactors who have given in the true spirit of philanthropy. Based on the strength of this altruistic history, the goal for the 2011-2012 Annual Giving Appeal is $215,000. We ask that you keep alive this very special spirit by making a gift to the 2011-2012 Annual Giving Appeal. It is because of the generosity of individuals like yourself that the Tradition of Success that is St. Francis High School will be passed on to future generations of young men. OUR TRADITIONEighty three years ago the Very Reverend Justin Figas, OFM Conv., with the support of his loyal Justin Drivers, founded St. Francis High School fulfilling his vision to create an institution of higher learning based on Franciscan ideals that emphasized not only intellectual development but the development of habits of the heart. While much has changed at St. Francis High School since 1927, our holistic approach to education is still the foundation on which we build young men of keen intellect and outstanding character. Today, St. Francis High School continues to be a true leader in secondary education, producing Alumni that are leaders in their communities known by their faith, critical thinking, compassion and service to others. A ST. FRANCIS SUCCESS STORY... THE HAYES FAMILY My brother Mike and I attended St. Francis High School in the 1970’s. At that time our parents had four children in Catholic high schools. They were committed to providing a faith based education for the entire family. This was only possible through their sacrifice, hard work and St. Francis’ generous scholarship/financial aid. Today, my wife Cheryl and I have developed a greater appreciation for the extent of my parents’ commitment. We determined that our three children would start their Catholic education early at SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School. We were extremely pleased that, with the assistance of scholarship funds and financial aid, Andrew ’12 and Aaron ’14 received the opportunity to become a part of the St. Francis High School Family. As students, they have grown both academically and through extensive participation in school organizations and sports. I continue to enjoy revisiting my High School as an observer of their scholastic efforts and extracurricular activities. From my experience, I know that their exposure to the St. Francis tradition will provide them with a strong Christian foundation to build upon as they go through life. For me as an alumnus, it is a source of great pride that Andrew and Aaron have followed in my footsteps at St. Francis High School. Our TrAdiTiOn…

Eighty three years ago the Very Reverend Justin Figas, OFM Conv., with the support of his loyal Justin Drivers, founded St. Francis High School fulfilling his vision to create an institution of higher learning based on Franciscan ideals that emphasized not only intellectual

development but the development of habits of the heart.
