Dear WEAT Members,
We are coming to the end of the 2011-2012
WEAT season and I wanted to thank everyone
for helping us have a very successful year. We
started off the year with a very informative
presentation on Odor Control in September at
HESS, our November meeting we toured the
City of Houston 69th Street Wastewater Treat-
ment Plant and in January we had another tour of
the brand new Missouri City Surface Water
Treatment Plant. The January meeting was our
first joint meeting with our friends at the Texas
Public Works Association (TPWA). Also in the
Spring, we held our joint technical seminar with
AWWA, which contained some great guests and
had a great turnout.
Our next meeting is Thursday, June 7th at HESS
and is our annual Ethics Training Seminar and
will be conducted by Clint Walker of Arcadis.
Please come out for a very entertaining session
and take care of your annual continuing educa-
tion requirement.
We do have some good news regarding our web-
site. As some of you might have noticed, the
website is now live and up to date! The address
is http://www.weat.org/southeast/. We will
begin utilizing the website for communicating
with our membership as well as meeting RSVP
and payment. Please let us know if you have any
feedback.
You can now RSVP on our website or you can still
directly RSVP to Monica Stiggins at (281) 589-
7257 or [email protected]
I want to say a special thanks to Hartwell and New-
man Regency for sponsoring the June Ethics Meet-
ing. Please contact me or Frank Stephens
([email protected]) if you are inter-
ested in sponsoring a meeting or placing your com-
pany’s advertisement in our newsletter.
The new WEAT officers will be meeting early this
summer to determine dates and topics for the next
the season. We will inform everyone of these dates
as soon as possible.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Ethics meet-
ing next week. For those that can not attend the
meeting, we hope to see you this summer at the
Social or at next season’s meetings.
