The Institute celebrates the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak

dev ji on 03-11-2017 at the campus along with the entire faculty, staff members

and the students. Kirtan and Shabad were sung linking everyone present with

celebration aims to create a sense of belongingness and to create a secular

atmosphere in the campus. Gurpurab is a celebration based on the lives of the

Sikh gurus. It is also known as GURU’S REMEMBRANCE DAY. The Gurus

practised what they taught. They preached their followers the sweetness of

humility, modesty, compassion, the necessity of bravery, freedom and justice.

According to the Sikh belief, people do meditation and perform noble deeds and

then pray to God for His benevolence and charity. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the

founder of Sikh religion, led the humanitarian approach forward by asking the

devotees to tread on the path of three attributes namely- ’KIRT KARO’, NAAM

JAPO’ & ’VAND CHAKO’. Both meditation and noble deeds are a prerequisite

of an ideal life.
