Collaboration TIFAC-CORE in Fiber Optics and Optical
Communication @ DTU
& SPIE DCE CHAPTER @ DTU
SPIE DCE CHAPTER HAS COLLABORATED WITH TIFAC CORE@ DTU FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF OPTICAL COMMUNICATION AND OPTICAL ENGINEERING. TIFAC CORE@ DTU WILL PROVIDE STUDENT MEMBERS WITH THE LATEST ACILITIES AVAILABLE IN ITS LABS & THE STUDENTS WILL UNDERTAKE AND HELP IN INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS ASSIGNED TO TIFAC CORE @ DTU.
Chapter Activities (Outreach Activities)
SPIE DCE Chapter organized an Optical Communication workshop for female college students on International Women's Day ( March 8, 2017)
Details of planned activities for the future
SPIE DCE Chapter at Delhi Technological University would be conducting the following activities in the future:
1. Expert lectures on the topic of Optics & Photonics at Department of Applied Physics, DTU (Attendees: B. Tech (EP) & M. Tech (MOCE and NST) student of DTU). Target of attendees: 70 students.
2. Delivering lectures in the public and private schools & colleges on optics to increase the awareness of light and light based technology (10, 10+2, and B.Sc/B. Tech students) Target of attendees: more than 1500 students and teachers.
3. Student summer/winter training and workshop on photonics at DTU (B.
Tech-EP -I year).
Target of attendees: 25 students.
4. Demonstration of home-made scientific models related to the basic laws of optics & photonics to the school students and spreading the information of light and light based technologies. (10, 10+2, B.Sc/B.Tech students) Target attendees: more than 800 students and teachers.
5. Joint SPIE-OSA activities to enhance the awareness of the function of light and light based technology in our daily life to the public in rural and urban areas. (Public) Target Audience: more than 1000 audience.
