“Housing First” Approach Is Making A Real Difference
‘’YES, WE ARE PAYING MORE AS TAXPAYERS TO WALK PAST THATPERSON ON THE STREET AND DO NOTHING THAN WE WOULD BE PAYING
TO JUST GIVE THEM AN APARTMENT.”
![Page 11: Annual CBID Property Owner Meeting 2014](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042816/559602001a28ab5b7d8b45aa/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
3-Year Outreach Progress
• Since July, 2011, a fulltime Outreach Coordinator has focused on providing housing and wraparound social services to individuals with highest number of arrests in the CBID.
• Several peer cities are duplicating this successful “housing first” model for outreach.
![Page 12: Annual CBID Property Owner Meeting 2014](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042816/559602001a28ab5b7d8b45aa/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
