The Engineering Department was also conducted at Elai Resort on a separate date while the FST was on the FST ground a week after. Sponsorships flooded the event from major establishments in the city such as Jollibee, Red Ribbon, Chowking, KMCC and Greenwich. This just proves that the new set of officers can provide related activities to students they rightfully deserved.

With the thrust of bringing students worthwhile activities that will eventually

arm them with necessary skills and knowledge to face the demanding college

and post-college life, the Autonomous Student Government despite the

insufficiency of funds and the late installation of the new set of officers, fully

performed its duties and responsibilities mandated by law.

    Programs and Spearheaded Activities

The ASG conducted room-to-room consultation on July 8 regarding the

collection of ASG Fund amounting to Php. 185.00. Considering that the

aforementioned consultation garnered 1,875 signatures that signified support

for such resumption, a resolution was then submitted to the University Student

Government for endorsement to the University President in which, Dr.

Francisco Gil N. Garcia approved it on July 21.

The ASG together with the Office of the Student Affairs spearheaded an

Induction Program at USM-KCC on July 15 for newly elected ASG officers and

PTCA officials, organizational president and their advisers and class mayors

where Hon. Joseph A. Evangelista, City Mayor graced the event as the

    inducting officer.

With the recent incident of fatal hazing of students to other university that had

caused alarm to different institutions even to our very own, the Clinic, OSA

and ASG initiated a forum on abovementioned national issue on July 28 at

USM-KCC CIT. The concerned offices invited Hon. Lauro Taynan and Dr.

Moises Sungcad to become speakers to share valuable information of the

legal and health aspects of hazing.

First major activity of the ASG was the Acquaintance Party of Education, and

Technology Department conducted at Elai Resort. The Engineering

Autonomous Student Government Office of the President

The most anticipated activity of the year spearheaded by the ASG, the College

    Festival 2015 on September 29-October 3, 2015 which eventually turned-out

to be the grandest celebration of its kind yet. Five-day straight of non-stop

activities for students that involves different extra-curricular activities. To name

a few, the first ever Street Dancing Competition and Booth Making, and the

highlight, the Search for Mr. and Ms. University 2015, which also served as the

finale night of the week-long celebration; hailed as over-all champion was the

    Education Department.

The Paskuhan 2K14 on December 17, 2015 served as the year-end finale of

the ASG activity that surprisingly garnered positive remarks from students and

comments throughout the social media. A first-ever battle of the bands and

    fireworks display concluded the night.

As promised also during the Induction Ceremony by the ASG President, the

revival of the Christian Concert on February 10, 2015 took place. This was

participated by different campus ministries and its mother churches outside the

attend the Philippine Association of Campus Student Leaders sometime in

    November.

Local seminars were also participated by the student leaders, the Kampo

Kinaiyahan at Centrla Mindanao Colleges on August and Youth Education

Summit at Sultan Kudarat on February 2015.

    Other programs and initiatives

The student-government also undertook necessary measures to address the

needs of our students by requesting the KCC administration to open

conditionally the back gate for easy access of students residing near the back

of this university. With the positive response of our Campus Dean the letter of

request was approved last July 23 and guards started to took actions on July

    28.

As part of the reforms and programs promoted by this administration to assist

other OSA recognized organizations in the conduct of their school activities,

the student government allocated significant amount from its budget to support

their quest for development and excellence; to name these organizations,

KITCHRA, Samahan ng Kabataang Makata, Regeneration-USM, Earth Savers

Club, University Socio-cultural, The Techno Builders, Math Club, FST students

attending competitions, University athletes and education students conducting

    relevant seminars

This office also never forget to help extend its assistance to students who are

in grief when their loved ones were involved in accidents which resulted to

hospitalization or to a greater extent they suffer fatal loss of someone close to

    them.

The student-government also did not take for granted internal issues that

these council and its partners are involved in. Selected student leaders

attended series of meetings conducted by the University Student Government

to settle years-old issues of student-government election. In addition, student-

leaders also attended a series of meeting called by the City Mayor himself to

strengthen cooperation of the different student-government in the city.

Autonomous Student Government Office of the President

Perhaps, one of the legacies that this student government can be proud of is

its fearlessness in facing challenges that affect students welfare. The student-

leaders initiated consultation with the University President and Vice-President

for Admin and Finance regarding the financial status of the university. The

student-leaders also initiated forum for separation of KCC form the Main

Campus. Most of the concerns of the students were also brought out to proper

authorities to the extent it was presented by the ASG President to the

Management Council or to the University President.

During this administration, the ASG achieved a milestone of becoming an

independent student body from the USG, the student-government was given a

great deal of administrative, fiscal and election related autonomy. During this

time also, the ASG attained its absolute identity of having its ratified ASG

    Basic Law.

    Tangible Project

The student-government approved through a resolution to allocate Fifty

Thousand Pesos (Php. 50,000.00) to help finance the construction of the

stage adjacent to the covered court.

    Awards given

The Office of the ASG President awarded Certificate of Commendation to

outstanding student-leaders the ASG Leadership Excellence Award, the

highest recognition given by the Autonomous Student Government to its

officers who showed exemplary performance during their entire leadership

    career.
