Baylor University Jazz Ensemble presents

The Sixth-Annual Swing ConcertAlex Parker leads his talented 24-member group in a nostalgic evening of big band music by Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and many others. This exciting concert is a re-creation of what folks in the 1940s heard on radios, in nightclubs, on 78-rpm records, and from the hotel ballrooms of their day.

The President’s Concert presents

Beethoven’s Ninth SymphonyConductor-in-Residence Stephen Heyde leads the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, A Cappella Choir, Concert Choir, and Bella Voce in a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s final symphonic work. The monumental “Choral” Symphony dates from 1824 and remains to this day the apotheosis of symphonic composition. Its last movement, scored for large choir and orchestra, is set to the text of Friedrich Schiller’s Ode to Joy. A live performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is an unforgettable experience.
