“O Come, O Come Emmanuel”
Minister: Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.
People: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoul-ders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsel-or, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. “Let Us Adore” Pastor John Bae
Minister: To us a child was born, to us a son was given. e Spirit of the Sovereign Lord was onhim, to preach good news to the poor. But who has believed his message?
People: e light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. We all, likesheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way. We considered him stricken andsmitten by God, he had no beauty to attract us to him. His form was marred beyond humanlikeness—we were appalled by him and hid our faces. But it was he who bore our sorrows:
“he was pierced for our transgressions,he was crushed for our iniquities;and the punishment that brought us peace was laid heavy upon him.”
Minister: O Suering Servant, sprinkle us with your blood, justify us by your righteousness andintercede for us transgressors.
ScriptureLuke 1:46-55
46 And Mary said,“My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,
55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his ospring forever.”

Minister: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Reverend John Bae
Minister: Our Lord defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.
People: Almighty Father, God of gods and Lord of lords, Father to the fatherless, Husband to the widow, Defender of the helpless, Judge of all the earth, have mercy on us. We have not sought freedom for the oppressed, even though you freed us. We have not bound up the broken even though you healed us.We have not forgiven others even though you forgave us. We withhold kindness from the needy even though you freely gave us your own Son. We are without excuse, but not without hope. By your power and grace, account our sins to Jesus’ bloody death and amend our ways by the power of his glorious resurrection.
All Together
Minister: Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”

Today’s Scripture - Luke 2:36-38 (ESV)
36 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38 And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
