Growing in Grace Phase 2 Vote, THIS TUESDAY, August 25th, at 6:30PM MUMC will hold a Church Conference so the congregation may vote on the proposed next steps for the Growing in Grace building campaign. Child care will be provided for this important night. As with any Church Conference, you must be an MUMC member to vote.

M&M’s Dinner, Thursday, August 27th

Sign Up for Photo Sessions for the Directory! The next opportunity to have photos taken for the new church directory is September 15th – 19th. You do not have to buy any photos and will not be pressured to. Each family gets a FREE 8x10 photo just for having their photo taken! Extra family poses may be taken at the same time and pets are welcome to join your photos! (Please let Carrie Mac know by email if you are bringing a pet or are interested in generational photos.) Wednesday Night Study Opportunities Stay after dinner on Wednesdays and get connected with an MUMC study! Groups are 6:00PM – 7:00PM. Three options are:

Reading (and understanding) Your Bible With Pastor Beth and Pastor Drew. Explore

how to read and understand your Bible in this weekly class in Maxwell Hall for youth and adults. If you do not have a Bible, contact the church office.

Faithlinks: Current events from a Methodist perspective, A drop-in, guided conversation. Florida House group facilitated by Carrie McCannell-Scruggs. Partin Center Parlor Group facilitated by Nelson Hamilton.

One Church Many Tribes: Following Jesus the Way God Made You This study looks at how we engage with certain types of worship and will look at worship through the perspective of the Native American people. Acolyte Training/ Liturgist Training Kids in grades 3rd – 5th interested in serving

the church as acolytes are invited to a training session on September 13th at 9:30AM in the Sanctuary. Older kids, youth, and adults interested in serving as Liturgists, or current Liturgists who’d like a refresher, are invited to a training session the same day at 12:15PM in the youth room. We were pleased to have the musicians from Campus to City Wesley (CCW) lead our worship last week! CCW encourages students on campus to worship and then equips them to go out into the cities to lead. Our own Marisa Gertz is one of the students that was inspired and equipped by CCW. Churches like Memorial help provide the overhead expenses for campus ministries through apportionment. CCW is always in need of further donations to help bring their ministry to more students. If you can donate to CCW, visit campustocity.org

August Mission Highlight: Barnabas Center Barnabas Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization which helps Nassau County residents in temporary crisis. They are committed to getting people back on their feet with short-term aid, including financial assistance, emergency food and clothing, and referrals to other community resources. In 2014, Barnabas served over 5,000 individuals in Nassau County, more than one-third of them children. The food distributed by Barnabas Food Pantry provided 247,000 meals to hungry people in Nassau. Last year, the Medical Program supplied over 3,000 services through medical visits for 693 men and women while the Dental Program restored and maintained smiles for 679 men and women. Crisis Assistance provided 700 households with the help needed to get back on their feet. Each Sunday we collect non-perishable foods for the Barnabas Center.
