Announcement 10th International Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Jerusalem, Israel, 21-26 May 1988 The 10th International Conference on Oral and Maxillo- facial Surgery will be held in Jerusalem, Israel, 21-26 May 1989. The Organizing Committee as well as the IAOMS take pleasure in inviting you to take an active part in the scientific and social events of the meeting. SYMPOSIUM A: RECONSTRUCTIVE MAXILLO- FACIAL SURGERY Chairman: Bruce Donoff, Boston, USA Panel: Peter Banks, East Grinstead, UK Robert Marx, Miami, USA Joachim Prein, Basel, Switzerland SYMPOSIUM B: IMAGING IN MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY Chairman: Richard Katzberg, Rochester, USA Panel: Per-Lennart Westesson, Malta6, Sweded WORKSHOP: CONSENSUS (WORKSHOP) CON- FERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE OF THE IAOMFS ON IMPLANTO- LOGY Chairman: Thomas Crewe, Plymouth, UK The conference will be held at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel (5 star) in Jerusalem, located near the campus of the Hebrew University. The Ramada Renaissance Hotel offers accommodation at very reasonable prices and rooms are also being held in the Knesset Tower and Sonesta hotels (4 star) which are next door to the Rama- da Renaissance Hotel. A wide variety of social events has been arranged, such as a folklore programme and a reception hosted by the Mayor of Jerusalem followed by a tour of the Israel Museum. Participants will have the opportunity to join a 3- night pre-conference tour (19-22 May) to Caesarea (the ancient Roman port), Nazareth (visit to the Church of the Annunciation and Mary's Well), Safed (medieval city of Jewish Kabalism and the artists' colony), Kibbutz, Tiberias and the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus gave his sermon on the Mount. Participants will also have the opportunity to join 1- or 2-night post conference tours to Massada (fortress built by Herod), the salty therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea, Old and New Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Other tours of ancient/modern cities and historical sites will also be available. The weather in Jerusalem in May is warm and pleasant during the day and cooler at night.
