He is the Consultant to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, is a member of ASHA’s Board of Directors and Chair of the SLP Advisory Council. Perry has chaired ASHA School Finance Committee, has been a member of the School Service Delivery Committee and has co-authored ASHA publications and presented several webinars on state and federal law. Perry is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) Certified Therapeutic Riding instructor, Director of the Equestrian Sport Development Team for Special Olympics North Carolina and an Operation Smile volunteer. As a Fulbright Scholar, Perry studied Special Education practices in China at the University of Shanghai, during the Summer 2015. Continuing Education This course is offered for 1.0 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate Level, Professional Area). The Mississippi Department of Education will award 1.1 CEUs of credit for this course. AL, AR, LA, MO, and TN must gain district approval for Continuing Commercial products, materials, procedures, and opinions presented at The 2015 Ole Miss Fall Institute presents Perry Flynn. Perry Flynn is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Sue Hale is Director of Clinical Education, Director of the MS-SLP Program, and Associate Professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at Vanderbilt University. She currently serves as the 2015 Chair of the Council on Academic Accreditation. She was the 2009 ASHA President and served as a member of the Council for Clinical Certification, Board of Ethics, Committee on Honors, and numerous working groups. Most recently she chaired ASHA’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Clinical Education and was a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Guidelines for the Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology. An ASHA Fellow, she lectures and publishes in the areas of ethics, counseling, and clinical supervision. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, she was a faculty member at Ole Miss for 24 years.

Tommie L. Robinson, Jr., PhD is chief of Hearing and Speech and Director of the Scottish Rite Center for Childhood Language Disorders at Children’ s National Health System in Washington, D.C. and is an associate professor of pediatrics at The George Washington, University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Robinson was the 2010 president of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and has served on a number of ASHA boards and committees. He specializes in communication disorders in children, with specific focus on children who stutter. Dr. Robinson’s research and writings have focused in normal fluency behaviors in children and adults as well as service delivery to children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Gloria D. Kellum, PhD In the Fall of 1966, Dr. Kellum began her professional career at Ole Miss when she came to help re-establish the Speech and Hearing Program. Educated at LSU, but a Rebel at heart, she has had the privilege of teaching Ole Miss students for over 43 years. She served as president of the Mississippi Speech and Hearing Association and received its Honors. She served as Vice President for Academic Affairs for ASHA. Her most meaningful recognitions were the Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award in 1975, the LSU Alumni Hall of Distinction Award in 2004, and the Honors of ASHA in 2011. Dr. Kellum retired as Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Professor of Communicative Disorders at the University of Mississippi in June, 2009, but still enjoys teaching and fundraising for Ole Miss, and being a grandmother.
