DIESEL ENGINE OPERATED INDUSTRIAL SWEEPING MACHINE 1.0 SCOPE OF SUPPLY: DESIGN, ENGINEERING, ASSEMBLY, SUPPLY, TESTING & COMMISSIONING OF INDUSTRIAL SWEEPING MACHINE FOR FOLLOWING OPERATIONS: The industrial sweeping machine shall be mounted on a chassis made from high quality welded steel for maximum strength and powered by suitable water cooled diesel engine with adequate horsepower conforming to latest pollution norms having hydraulic steering with hydraulic and pneumatic brake system. Machine must be capable enough to undertake dry sweeping without necessity to spray water with the help of fabric bag filters and mechanical sweeping by brushes for continuous sweeping/ cleaning operation. The equipment should be capable of sweeping any type of debris from fine dust to large and heavy size debris that is generally found in shop floors. 2.0 SPECIFICATION: (a)Prime Mover: The Diesel engine operated industrial sweeping machine shall be mounted on a chassis made from high quality welded steel for maximum strength. (b)Engine: The engine shall be internal combustion diesel engine, water cooled conforming to latest pollution norms with suitable & adequate horsepower to perform the operations. (c)Steering: Hydraulic steering (d)Brake: Hydraulic/pneumatic brake system, parking brake arrangement with indication in the cabin. (e)Cabin: Machine cab should contain the entire vehicle operation and control mechanism with hydraulically suspended driver's seat. The cab should have two doors and sliding windows. Cabin operator shall control all function from cabin and get all relevant data including the equipment parameter, filter clogging indication, sweeping and debris disposal etc. The cabin wind shield glass shall provide clear vision for normal operation . (f)Electrical (i)Auto Electrical: Circuit voltage 24v with battery, alternator and starter motor. Battery: 135ah. suitable head light, horn and reverse horn/buzzer. (ii)Electrical System: (a)Electrical Control panel shall be made of 2 mm sheet steel, powder coated, IP 65 protected and spacious for ease of maintenance. (b)Handle with locking facility shall be provided in the panel door.

(c)The cable glanding plate shall be adequately sealed to prevent ingress of dust and insects. (d)Necessary earthing shall be provided as per relevant IS (e)MCBs with required rating shall be provided for the incomer and also for individual circuit. (f)Indication lamps shall be of LED type. (g)Control cable shall be 2.5 sq. mm. copper and shall be identified by good quality identification markers (ferrules). The ferrules nos. assigned to each wire shall also be reflected in the schematic drawing against each teminal block. (h)All cables shall be logged at both the ends. (i)The terminal blocks for control wires shall be 4.0 sq.mm screw type TB. (j)Electrical wiring from/to the Electrical panel shall be through metal conduits and the routing of each conduit shall be provided to NALCO along with drawings/documentation for easy traceability. The diameter of the conduit shall be such that at least 50% of extra wires can be accomodated inside it if required in future. (k)The pulsing coil shall have the LED type of Top for easy identification of effective pulsing. (l)6 sets of panel key shall be provided along with the vehicle. (m)The vendor shall submit the following documents to NALCO for their approval before commencement of manufacturing. (i) Detailed dimension drawing of the panel and other electrical enclosures. (ii)Electrical schematic along with rating of the equipment. (iii)Cable schedule and layout of electrical devices in the vehicle. (g) Instrumentation: Engine Oil pressure indicator. Hydraulic oil level indicator with low level alarm. Engine cooling liquid temperature. Fuel Gauge/fuel indicator. Operating hour meter (h)Operating parameter: Minimum Sweeping Width preferably with two side broom: 1700 mm. Minimum Cleaning capacity: 17000 m2/hr. Min Waste Hopper Capacity: 400 LTRS. Minimum Dumping Height: 1.5 Meter. Dust emission at filter outlet: 10 mg/NM3(Maximum). Maneuverability The Machine shall be highly maneuverable with an outside turning radius of 3000mm (maximum).

Dust generation at the time of sweeping: 10 mg/NM3 (Maximum) Maximum height of the vehicle shall be 3.2 Meter. Noise level shall be 85 db(max) at a distance of 1 meter of the machine. (I) Wheel & Tyre: Suitable & robust rim with solid tyre of standard size. (J) Waste & Debris Collection System: The waste and debris collection system shall be equipped with the following components: Side Brooms, central cylindrical brooms, waste hopper, suction fan/blower, fabric filtering system, pulsing system / electrical shaking system & timers. The hydraulic and pneumatic hoses should be of reputed manufacture like Parker/Gates. The hydraulic pumps, DC valves and cylinders should be of Parker/ Rexroth/Vickers make and the DC valves should be of 24 Volts only. (K) Tools and Tackles: The bidder shall provide tools and tackles required for normal maintenance of the offered vehicle. 3.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE: The vendor shall carry out all the required inspection and testing internally and submit all the test reports and results like pollution testing certificate issued by any Government authorized agency etc. 4.0 PRE DELIVERY INSPECTION: Pre-dispatch inspection shall be carried by Nalco at Supplier's works. Pre delivery inspection involves visual inspection, workmanship, dimension checking, checking of all the function including, Pressure, Vacuum, temperature etc. However, commissioning and final acceptance of the machine will be at Nalco’s site. 5.0 COMMISSIONING: The commissioning and performance testing of the machine shall be carried out at Nalco’s site. The responsibility of successful commissioning and testing lies with the vendor only. The spares if any, tools & tackles and first fill of lubricants required for commissioning is to be provided by the vendor. 6.0 DOCUMENT AND DRAWING: The vendor shall supply 06 (SIX) sets of the following documents along with the equipment. -operation and service manual, -spare parts list. -Relevant mechanical drawings.

-The drawing for manufacturing of Sweeping Machine by the supplier to be approved by the Competent government Authority as this is required for the registration of the vehicles. -Load distribution diagram of the Sweeping machine also to be submitted along with the approved copy. -The detailed schematic drawing covering the electrical wiring from battery level up to electrical panel and from panel to the individual field equipment. -Layout and routing of control and power cables in conduits in the vehicle. -Rating and ordering information of each electrical equipment -Schematic Hydraulic circuit drawing. 7.0 TRAINING: The vendor or its authorized representative will impart required training for operation and maintenance of the machine to NALCO’s concerned working personnel at the work site of Smelter Plant, Angul. 8.0 WARRANTY: The equipment complete shall be guaranteed by the bidder against any defective material, design and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of commissioning or 18 months from the date of dispatch and whichever is later. In case of breakdown covered under warranty the service has to be done free of cost including supply of spares. 9.0 PAINTING: Painting shall be of automotive grade paint. 10.0 TWO YEARS OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE SPARES: The bidder shall furnish the list of recommended operation and maintenance spares for two years of the offered equipment with itemized price along with the bid. 11.0 PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE TEST: The supplier will depute their service personnel to demonstrate the performance of the equipment and attachment at Nalco Smelter site within one week of intimation for the following parameters. (a)Smooth running of the vehicle at specified gradiant road inside Smelter plant in loaded condition. (b)Smooth operation of the vacuum system. (c)Dust generation at the time of sweeping: 10 mg/NM3 (maximum). (d)Noise level: Noise level shall be 85 db (maximum)at a distance of 1 meter from the machine. (e)Minimum cleaning capacity: 17000 sq.mtr/hour. 12.0 PAYMENT TERMS: The payment terms shall be as mentioned below:

i) 90% of basic supply value + 100% taxes, duties & Freight within 30 days of Receipt of the M/c at Nalco’s site against submission of CPBG.

ii) 10% of basic supply value After commissioning and PG Test of machine at Nalco site

13.0 NOTE: I. General Information: Location the equipment to be supplied and commissioned at Smelter plant of National Aluminium Company Limited, located at 5 Km from Angul town, and 150 KM from State capital Bhubaneswar. II. Site and Climatic condition: Maximum/ Minimum ambient temperature of the operating area of the equipment is around 50 degree centigrade and 6 degree Centigrade respectively. The equipment will normally operate inside the pot room which is highly magnetic and dusty area, the dust is mainly of abrasive particle like Alumina. The selection and design of the equipment/components should take care of above operating conditions. 14.0 SPECIAL CONDITIONS: (i)Manufacturer must submit the data/certificate as required for registration of the vehicle with the government authority. The drawing for manufacturing of Sweeping Machine by the supplier to be approved by the Competent government Authority as this is required for the registration of the vehicles.Load distribution diagram of the Sweeping machine also to be submitted along with the approved copy. (ii)The bidder must give an undertaking to supply operation and maintenance spares for the machine for a period of 10 (ten) years from the date of commissioning. 15.0 INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS: The vendor shall not quote tailor made equipment designed as per the specification given. They have to supply from their established models confirming to or better than our specifications stated above. However, small modifications to suit to our specification will be allowed. Such modifications are to be spelt out at the time of offer.
