Anne Frank
The Beginning
Born in Frankfurt, Germany; June 12, 1929
Parents were Otto and Edith Frank
Jewish
Nazi seize power in 1933Otto, her father, went to Amsterdam to
escapeThe rest of the family soon followed
thereafter, Anne being the last to arrive after being with her grandparents.
Germans occupied Amsterdam in 1940In 1942, Germans began to concentrate Jews
at Westerbork, and many other concentration camps.
Nazi Take Control
Otto Frank had taken his family into hiding after Nazi groups took control.
This hiding place was where Anne started her diary.
The secret attic apartment was where the family spent a couple of years in hiding, Anne referred to this hiding place as the “Secret Annex”
Friends of the Franks smuggled food in risk of their own lives to help the family.
This showed that during this time, it was a very harsh, and dangerous situation.
Going into Hiding…
The Hiding PlaceAnne Writes, "The
Annex is an ideal place to hide in. It may be damp and lopsided, but there's probably not a more comfortable hiding place in all of Amsterdam. No, in all of Holland.“
The annex was hidden behind a movable bookshelf.
Frank’s Found!The Frank family
were soon found in the annex.

The Holocaust was a crude time.Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, poles, political
opponents, and the mentally ill were all targeted during the Holocaust.

Holocaust ever occurred The fact of the matter was is that it happened
and Anne Frank’s diary depicted some of the horrors of this time.

The DiaryAnne Frank’s diary
was published, and since then became the best- known memoir of the Holocaust.
Throughout time, Frank’s diary has become famous. Her writing depicted some of the
harsh experiences her and the family faced during the Holocaust. Anne died at the age
of 15. Her father is the only one who survived the Holocaust. Anne’s diary was soon
published in 1947.

This site was used to find more information on the Holocaust. I found this site extremely intersting. I also used this to find out why the Jews were a major target during thr Holocaust.
