INTRODUCTION

The Annapurna Base camp trekking provides- Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna Ist (8091m)

Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041m), Mt. Fishtail also called Mt. Machhapuchhare (6998m), Mt.

Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6986m) etc.

The annapurna base camp trek also passes through Ghorepani Poon Hill, which is known for its

sunrise view and mountain vista. Mount Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna Range and Mount

Machhapuchhre also come into sight from this point. We will also encounter a natural hot spring near

Jhinu Danda. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that ease away your aches and

pains.

The locals we will encounter in Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route are of mixed ethnic groups; there

are Brahmans, Chhetris, Mongoloid, Gurung, and Magar people fairly distributed among the entire

region. However, Gurungs and Magars make up the larger portion of the residents. You must seize

this opportunity to explore and learn the culture, tradition and lifestyle of these residents.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts and ends in Pokhara – second biggest city and naturally blessed

place to relax after the big hike in Annapurna. This trek is a must experience for all kinds of trekkers.

TRIP ITINERARY Day 1: Kathmandu – Pokhara

We will drive, from Kathmandu, for about 6-7 hours until we reach Pokhara. It is a romantic drive

through the scenic beauty of terraced rice field, beautiful landscape, Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers

and spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and most of the Annapurna

Himalayan Range. You will have the rest of the day free to yourself to explore Pokhara as you please.

We will spend the night in Pokhara.

Day 2: Pokhara- Phedi – Tolka

We will head towards Phedi from Pokhara. This village offers a mesmerizing view of Annapurna

South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail. We will trek from

Phedi to Tolkha via Landruk. The descending path leads to a bridge over Modi Khola. From here, an

uphill route will take us to Landruk before we reach Tolkha- a Gurung village with a magnificent

view point for sunset. Overnight in Tolkha.

Day 3: Tolka- Chhomrong:

On this day, we will trek for about 7-8 hours towards Chhomrong. The trail heads towards Landrung

through oak forests, terraced fields, and pretty villages. We will then head towards Jhinudanda

where we will relax in the hot spring of Modi River. Chhomrong provides spectacular views of

Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Fishtail. Overnight in Chhomrong in a lodge.

Day 4: Chhomrong – Bamboo

The trail descends to Chhomrung Khola and then ascends uphill to Sinuwa. It further passes through

rhododendron forest to Kuldi. The trek will enter the upper Modikhola valley. There are only a

couple of lodges in the Bamboo and most of them open only during high season. Overnight in

Bamboo.

Day 5: Bamboo- Himalayan Hotel-Deurali

The trail climbs through rhododendron forest to Dovan. This stretch of the trail passes several

avalanche chutes. We will then pass through Himalayan Hotel before we reach Deurali. Deurali

offers a closer view of the Annapurna Range and Mt. Machhapuchhare. We will spend the night in

Deurali.

Day 6: Deurali to Machhapuchhare Base camp

We will trek towards Machhapuchhare Base Camp from Deurali on this day. This destination is not

really a base camp for climbing the mountain is not permitted. The accommodation service available

here is also limited. There is a high probability to experience discomfort due to the changing altitude

in this region. We will spend the night in Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

Day 7: Machhapuchhare Base camp – Annapurna Base Camp

The trail leads you uphill to Annapurna base camp and it will take 3 hours to reach here. This region

is a spectacular viewpoint of the glistening Annapurna Range. We will explore the county and savor

the rare scenic beauty of this region. We will spend the night in Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 8: Annapurna Base Camp – Himalayan Hotel -Chhomrong

On this day, we will collect our belonging and head towards Chhomrong. The trail first heads

towards the village of Deurali. Through Bamboo, we will then reach Sinuwa. The route passes

through Rhododendron forest and Himalayan Bamboo and then descends downhill to Chhomrung

Khola. Climbing upstairs made up of stones will lead us to Chhomrung village wherein we will be

spending the night.

Day 9: Chhomrong to Tadapani

The route to Tadapani from Chhomrong goes through a jungle and several Gurung villages. We can

see an excellent view of Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail) and the narrow canyon of the Annapurna

Sanctuary along the journey. It will take us about 4-5 hours to read Tadapani. We will spend the rest

of the day exploring Tadapani and spend the night there.

Day 10: Tadapani to Ghorepani

The trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani is about 5-7 hrs. Ghorepani Poon is a viewpoint of a

magnificent Sun-rise and Mountain peaks. We will spend the night in Ghorepani.

Day 11: Ghorepani-Poon Hill – Tirkhedhunga

The trail to Tikhedhunga passes through a pleasant and blossoming Rhododendron forest. We will

also come across Ulleri Village. It will take us about 5-6hrs to reach Tirkhedunga from Ghorepani. We

will spend the night in Tirkheunga.

Day 12: Tirkhedhunga to Nayapul to Pokhara

This is the final day of trekking. We will trek from Tirkhedunga to Nayapul for bout 3-4 hours. From

Nayapul we will drive to Pokhara. Once we reach Pokhara we will check into a hotel. You can spend

the rest of the day exploring the beautiful city of Pokhara. A walk along the shore of the Few-Taal

(lake) is a relaxing experience. We will spend the night in Pokhara.

Day 13: Pokhara – Kathmandu

We will leave early on this morning to Kathmandu. The 7hrs drive is romantic through green hills,

deep valleys, Trisuli River and spectacular views of some of the peaks. Upon our arrival in

Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel and rest of the day rest or explore the surrounding

areas.
