Facts about EVES: Located in Fernley, NV, population 19,700 +/- Built in 2006 2014- received 4 star ranking Grades: Pre-K (2 classes) to 4th Grade (4 classes of each grade) Approximately 450 students Full time Librarian/ computer and music teacher Implementing STEM curriculum next year @ all grades

Writing is a daily activity that is honored, shared, celebrated, and risk is not a four letter word.

Math: the purpose…is not to teach a system…but (to teach) concepts applied to concrete events. (Piaget)

Math, for the younger students, need to know the whys and not the formulas and that is how I approach all areas with hands-on, manipulatives, discussions, investigations
