In their own words: Did CCN connections lead you to other connections?

◦ “I think this would be similar to listing all of your connections on LinkedIn. Meeting one person is like meeting 5 or 6 as everybody knows everybody. That is one of the good things of belonging to the CCN. Meeting new people with new ideas is the foundation of the network.”

What benefits have you received?◦ “We have enhanced our process for working with local businesses and have

used the job skills validation process as well as other types of discussions to bring business requirements into our curriculum development.”

◦ “Our department has faced the challenge of maintaining an advisory committee, and traditional methods have yielded indifferent results. Ideas I gathered from Working Connections, such as asynchronous meetings and multiple meeting times, while obvious once in print, had not occurred to us. Hearing of other schools’ successes encouraged my department to re-evaluate, and last fall’s meeting had better attendance than ever before.”

Name one way you’ve improved a practice.◦ “Quicker turnaround on getting new courses proposed, approved, launched

and on the schedule.”
