How are computers disposed of?

#1 QuestionHow are Computers disposed of?

1. All of the computers’ information has to be written down

beforehand this includes the type of computer (PC or Mac),

model Number, and other work station items, like a mouse

or keyboard.

2. Look at the PEP National Directory of Computer Recycling Affairs Website for a list of National Recycling programs. The PEP gives you the names of groups in your area. That take old PC’s or Mac’s.

Some steps to recycle your old computers would be:

#2Question

• What safety precautions are used? What safety precautions are used?

#3 Question

http://www.ehow.com/how_9173_recyle_used_computers.html

Since computers have harmful chemicals in them, (i.e. : Benzol) safety precautions must be done to ensure one’s safety. Most people don’t recycle the computers themselves, though. One step an ordinary person could do would be to somehow damage or destroy the hard drive, by drilling holes in it, or smashing it with a hammer to bend it, therefore, it won’t be able to fit back in the computer, or its data be read.

Some companies, when disposing of computers would wear gloves and suits so that if somehow they were to touch the chemicals, it wouldn’t harm their skin, along with goggles in case there were any fumes involved in it.

#4 Question

• Safety Precautions are needed because many of the chemicals in computers lead to disease, and if the computers were simply thrown into landfills the chemicals could seep into our water, getting many people sick

#4 Question

Why are safety precautions needed?

What chemicals are in the computers?

Chemicals that are frequently used in Computers include: Solvents, used for degreasing and cleansing Benzene (Benzol)- High fire hazard, Dermatitis and Anemia, Xylene (orxylol) can cause nausea, trimethyl collosolve can cause brain damage, and many more toxic chemicals exist in these computers.

Environment

Environment

#1 Question#1 Question

How does using computers affect the environment?

Using the computers will save money by: not having to buy paper, pencils, etc. , and save trees because paper is no longer needed. However, there is a downside. Computers use a lot of electricity, costing the company more money on hydro bills.

Besides, most electricity is made from Coal nowadays, as well. So, the more they use the computers, more fossil Fuels get pumped into the air, which ends up having a huge effect on the environment.

#2 Question

How long are they usually on the computers?

There is really no exact time for how long it takes to make an animated scene , so I would have to give an estimate of how long they would be on them. Maybe they would be on for 8 hours or more. Animators work at their own pace, so there is no telling ho long they will be on them.

• How many trees can be saved by using computers instead of flipbooks?

#3 QuestionHow many trees are saved by using

computers instead of flipbooks?

one tree would produce 80,500 sheets of paper, so if you are using about 5,000 sheets daily, in about a week you would have almost a quarter of that number. There is no exact number though.

#4 QuestionWhere do the old materials go?

Well, computers don’t really get old, but it could go out of date. Animators would want the newest animation technology, and might throw out their older computer. There’s a chance it could be recycled, but there would be more chance of it going to a landfill.

Cartoons or animated films could not only teach children something, but also their parentsSome movies, (ex: Finding Nemo) teach valuable lessons. In Finding Nemo, it teaches that sometimes you have to let go of your kids And trust that they will come back to you. Another film would be Toy Story, where Woody puts away his envy to save Buzz and become friends.

#2 Question

Where would society see these animations?

Most people would see these animations at home on their TV, and other people could see them at movie theaters.

#3 QuestionHow are kids affected by shows that are made?

Kids can be affected by some cartoons giving them a bad message or a good message. Not only do they take in good Morales from movies, but also the bad ones. Ex: a deal with the devil always works out, or such is the message of The Little Mermaid. Ariel makes a deal with the evil Ursula so she can be something she isn’t. Eventually the handsome prince saves her, but making an evil deal is never okay.

What would parents think of the message in them?

#4 Question

Parents could agree with what the film teaches. Or disagree. Many children’s films nowadays seem to be having a more negative effect, and are filled with witches, or wizards
